Arthur, still in shock, had finally met the Red Dragon. The dragon that killed his mother. The same dragon destroyed a whole kingdom. The blood trail had ended here, the Red Dragon was injured, and a clean cut on its leg, bleeding red rose blood, the dragon was clearly in pain

The thing that moved in the dense forest when he was near Fable's city gates was in fact the red Dragon. Both of them were looking at each other, dead in the eye, both silent but one was deadlier than the other

"You're injured, how did you manage to get hurt?", asked Arthur

The dragon at first did not answer. Total silence, Arthur wasn't sure if this was the legendary Red Dragon, so to confirm he asked, "Are you the Red Dragon?", the dragon glared at Arthur but then said, "Yes, I am", without moving its mouth. It's used mine talk on Arthur, he was amazed

"You... you just mind talked, to me!"

"Is that what they call it? How amusing...", the dragon said sarcastically

"How did you get that injury?"

"An archer tried to shoot me dead, but he didn't manage, he missed but pierced my leg. What's your name, boy?"

"A... Arthur"

"Arthur, hmm... Where are you from Arthur?"

At first hesitant, Arthur replied, "I'm from Fable"

"Fable? That's the same place I got this wretched injury"

"And you killed my mother", Arthur seemed to have changed his tone for that comment, a tone of anger. The Red Dragon seemed to not want to answer that comment, the dragon looked at what Arthur was holding in his hand and asked, "What's that, that you are holding in your hand?"

Arthur looked at the book and then back to the dragon, still with anger in his tone, he said, "A book"

"What book is it?"

"Paradoxia", a slight pause came from the Red Dragon

"I'd be careful with that if I were you"

"Why?"

"Just... be careful"

"Do... do you need help with that wound?"

"No, I'm fine", the dragon tried to stand up but with the wound so bad, it made the Red Dragon's pain even worse than it was and a loud growl exhumed the dragon's mouth and fell back to the ground

"Damn this pain! I can't stand up. Can you do something for me? Can you help me?", he asked

Arthur, reluctant at first after what the Red Dragon had done to his mother, replied, "Yes, I'll help you"

"Thank you. There should be a flower nearby, it's blue with red thorns. That flower can cure this blasted injury of mine"

"Okay, I'll be back"

Arthur went on deeper into the forest to try and find the blue flower with red thorns, leaving the dragon, alone, in the middle of the forest

After a while, Arthur manage to find to what he thought was the flower

"Is this the flower?", he asked

The dragon, still lying down, said, "Yes! That's it, bring it here"

Arthur at first did not want to go near the dragon with the fear that the dragon might trick him and kill him

"Don't worry, I won't hurt you. Trust me"

Arthur trusted the dragon and went nearby the wound

"Now what do I do?", asked Arthur

"Squeeze the liquid from the stem of the flower"

Arthur started to squeeze the stem of the flower and a blue liquid started dripping onto the wound, another hideous growl came from the dragon, from the pain that the dragon was enduring

"Now what?"

"Now, you need to prick the wound with one of the red thorns and that should heal the wound"

Arthur slowly pricked the red thorn to the dragon's wound and slowly the wound started to heal. A sigh of relief came from the now cured dragon

"Thank you Arthur. That's much better"

"Y... your welcome"

The Red Dragon could now stand up on its own feet, "Ah, thank you again Arthur, I feel much better"

"Good", Arthur replied

"Do you want a ride back to Fable?"

"No thanks, I'd rather walk it", said Arthur in a sarcastic manner

"Well, suit yourself", as the Dragon started to fly away, it turned around to Arthur and told him, "She's not gone, take care Arthur", and the Red Dragon flew away leaving Arthur alone in the forest once again

She's not gone...

What did the dragon mean by that?

Was Arthur's mother still alive?

Is she still alive somewhere?

Arthur was confused at this, but thought nothing more of it
