Violet was taken to the nearest police station where all the food she tried so hard to get was taken away from her and confiscated. One police officer came up to Violet and asked her, "Why did you steal this much food young lady?", she was at first reluctant to answer at first but answered truthfully, "I stole this much food to help my starving family, we are all poor and we struggle with trying to buy food, so the only way we can get stuff is by... well... stealing it", as she was saying all this, the police officer slowly started to lose interest in what she was trying to explain about her stealing

"Yeah, yeah, heard it all before. Well, there's nothing we can do until one of your family members comes and claims you", Violet did not answer back, knowing for a fact that neither of her parents would come and collect her, firstly because they do not know that Violet is in a police station locked up and secondly the police station Violet was in was too far away for her mother to come and collect her. Besides, her mother would be too busy cooking the little amount of food they had left and taking care of sick Matthew and in addition to that, if she did come to the police station and the police saw all her bruises they would question her, knowing Violet's father, he would be too drunk to come and collect her and even if he did dare and come to the police station drunk, they would arrest him right on the spot and throw him into the same cell as she was in. So, it was a fact that none of her family members would come and pick her up, so she will have to stay in the police station locked up until they allowed her to leave, so, she sat down on the lonely bench in the cell and just waited

She always thought to herself, if she was born into a well-earned family, would she still have suffered as much as she is suffering now? Would she have to go out every single morning and look for food or would she get the food all ready, cooked and prepared? Would she have to wash her face everyday or would she get and nice warm bath to soak and lay down everyday? Would she get little to no education at all or the best education that money can buy? Would she have a better family?

She always asked these questions, if fate had decided to bring her into this world as a family member of a rich family, would she enjoy her life? Or has fate decided that she needs to suffer to get to know more about the real world? Fate works in many a mysterious ways. It seems as though fate brought her into the family she is in, even though it may be a perfect one, she still loves them all the same. Her mother and brother she loves them to pieces, she wouldn't give them up for anything else, but what about her father?

The man that strikes her when she's misbehaved or shouts at her when she's done something wrong. She may hate him on the outside, but she never forgot that deep down that drunken exterior lies a man who is kind of heart, loving and caring but is blinded by the scent of booze. Violet still loves her family just the same even if it isn't the perfect family she's always wanted
