Dark shadows raced through the forest, fleeing from their home. A huge tabby tom stopped, and took one last glance at the Earthclan border. He growled before turning back to his clan, and began running again.
"Head towards the barn!" Blueflame, the Earthclan medicine cat ordered. The Earthclan cats, did as they were told, and raced towards the dry barn. Rain poured from the clouds, a sign that Starclan were far from happy.
Once everyone was inside, they sat in a circle and began their grieving. "Alderstar is dead!" One cat wailed. "What do we do now?!" Another cat shrieked. Wails of sadness, anger and outrage broke out among the cats.
"Hush!" Blueflame ordered, resulting in a quiet, almost eerie silence to break out."Hawkpath is deputy, therefore he succeeds Alderstar, as leader of Earthclan" Blueflame spoke calmly. All eyes were on Hawkpath.
"She's right!" Mumblestep declared. Hawkpath got to his paws and began to speak. "Earthclan, I promise to lead us into a better future, to lead us back to camp, and to lead us to the TOP of the food chain!" Hawkpath promised.
The Earthclan warriors began to cheer. "Hawkstar! Hawkstar! Hawkstar!" They cheered. Hawkpath smirked. He liked the sound of that. He was leader of Earthclan now. And his first order of business, was to get revenge on Fireclan, for letting Sunclan attack the forest.
