Chapter 13

"Lionstorm, wake up!" Cloudfoot ordered excitedly. "Huh?" Lionstorm mumbled groggily, as he looked up towards his former mentor. "Lionstorm! They're here!" Cloudfoot yowled happily. "Wha? Whose here?" Lionstorm yawned. "My kits!" Cloudfoot yelled, and beckoned Lionstorm to follow.

Lionstorm followed Cloudfoot into the nursery quietly, as it was still early in the morning. "Splash, I brought someone to see you!" Cloudfoot whispered, as he nuzzled his mate. Splash looked past Cloudfoot and to Lionstorm. "Hello Lionstorm! Come see our kits!" Splash smiled, and beckoned him over. Lionstorm peered over at two scraps of fur.

"Meet our daughters, Cloverkit and Cinderkit" Splash purred, as she licked the head of her tiny kittens. "Wow" Lionstorm breathed, as he watched Cloverkit climb ontop of her sister, much to Cinderkit's dismay. "Mama? Whose here?" Cloverkit asked. Lionstorm took a closer look at the two kittens. "Shh, its okay Cloverkit, this is Lionstorm, a friend of mine" Splash replied lovingly.

"Where is he?"Cloverkit asked. Lionstorm almost forgot that kits were born blind. "May I?" Lionstorm asked Splash, Politely. Splash nodded. Lionstorm sank down to the kittens level. "I'm right here, Cloverkit" Lionstorm replied softly. Cloverkit squeaked in surprise before falling off her sister, and onto Splash's paws. Lionstorm chuckled lightly.

"Lionstorm, may we ask you a favour?" Splash asked hesitantly. "What is it, Splash?" Lionstorm replied, tipping his head to one side. "I-I want you to mentor one of our kits, when they're old enough that is" Splash admitted, looking at her kittens. Lionstorm was taken aback for a moment. He looked over at Cloudfoot. "Please.." Cloudfoot begged. "O-okay, I'll do my best.." Lionstorm nodded.
