Sasuke turned towards the silver-haired man. "If I give you the book," he began. "Since it seems to be a very expensive book, you give me the password for this cell and you must leave. You cannot say a word to anything that you have seen, including me, the book, and this cell."
Kakashi raised an eyebrow. "What are you going to do to him?" he asked, nodding his head towards a sleeping Kiba.
The black-haired boy turned back to face him and wrapped his fingers around one of the bars. A smile crept over his face but he did not realize it. "I'm going to have revenge."
"Why?"
"He hurt someone important to me."
Kakashi frowned, tilting his head to one side, thinking. Someone important? Had Kiba hurt anyone lately? Then his eyes widened as it dawned on him. "Your important person is Uzumaki Naruto, right?" he asked, looking for confirmation.
Sasuke didn't say anything, but that was enough for Kakashi.
"If you're going to kill him," he said. "Then I have to stop you. And if you really are going to kill him if I give you the password to his cell, then I don't care if I have the book or not. A life is more important than a book anyways."
Sasuke turned to face Kakashi, eyes narrowed. "Are you going to stand in my way?"
"That's right."
"Do you realize what he has done to Naruto?"
"I do."
"And you can still stand there, protecting him from the consequences that he himself brought upon him?" Sasuke asked, his voice getting louder with each word. His anger was too much to bear. He felt his eyesight starting to turn red. "This boy, this godforsaken boy, dared to hurt one of the people I now hold dear!" he exclaimed. Kiba stirred in his sleep, his eyes beginning to open, but Sasuke paid him no attention. "He tried to kill him! How can you stand there and protect a murderer like him?!"
"The same way I stood there and protected your brother!" Kakashi yelled.
And all was silent.
Until it was broken by a familiar voice.
"SASUKE!"

Naruto raced towards the juvenile detention center, his tiny footsteps kicking up dirt. He recognized the shape of Sasuke's sandals, but he began to worry when he saw that they were accompanied by another set of larger footprints. And by the way that Sasuke's footprints had made running signs on the ground, Naruto concluded that the larger set of footprints belonged to someone that he didn't know.
He sneaked past the night guard easily, since he had done it many times, and climbed into the center through a window. He landed as gently as he could on the metal floor as to not set off any alarms. Naruto squatted down and closed his eyes, concentrating, trying to hear.
Trying to listen for Sasuke.
The slightest of murmuring caught him, and Naruto opened his eyes. He raced towards where the murmuring was coming from, the sounds growing louder as he turned each corner.
What on earth was Sasuke doing?
Naruto stopped by an empty cell, his nose twitching. A chair had been dragged up right next to the cell, and as Naruto inhaled deeply to taste the scents that came from the area, he recognized both of the scents.
Sasuke.
And a supervisor that he had never talked to, Hatake Kakashi.
Naruto followed their scents down the halls, relying on his nose and his hearing to guide him along. The murmuring turned into regular sounding talking, and the scents became stronger, fresher.
