~Procyon
My breath was lost in my lung as a gasp that seemed to become strangled halfway to my throat. I stared as everything else felt numb in my body. I feel like I know her. She was dressed in an outfit similar to that of Minor's; a hooded shirt with long sleeves that draped down to her wide waist. Brown holsters attached her two deadly weapons there, glinting in the light.
Deer-skinned boots laced up to her knees, the brown materialized fringe dangling off to the side. She wasn't aged very much from life as she had little to no wrinkles. The activity in her hazel eyes was similar to that of a breaking thunderstorm about to burst through the clouds with an racing bolt of lighting to set the ground to flame.
We slid off the shoulders of the Ursinians, who backed away acutely from us. Ursa Minor landed softly on the grass beside me, and Cancer on the right side of him. The man that had called me a god stood in the front of the group, his head bowed. The tall woman completely turned to face us. She crossed her weapons in front of her body. Soft fingers placed themselves easily on the triggers, prepared to fire at any moment.
A low loud growl rumbled deep from her still furious form. Her muscles tensed and pink full lips pulled back to reveal a razor-sharp pair of under canines like deadly knives. A similar top pair, which also showed the same sharpness, flashed in the light.
I flinched, preparing myself for combat. Whomever thus woman was, she was not exactly having a good day. However, to my complete surprise, she wasn't looking at me. Nor did her eyes even stray to the princess. No, they glared bullet holes into Ursa Minor.
He forced a smile, though it made itself shown as more of a grisly grimace. He licked his lips."Ursa Minor... at last the child decides to show his guilty snout," the woman said, with a sneering laughter. The sheer ice of her dry tone sent a cold shiver down my spine.
"Muscida! I c-can' tell you h-how much it pleases m-me to see your l-lovely face!" He said. But I knew from the way he shifted his weight that he was anything but pleased. This doesn't bode well."Cut off the rust, you cub!" She screamed in her anger. Almost as silent as snake's deadly strike, she pulled the trigger of her right metal weapon, firing the ammunition inches away from his feet. The projectile was launched deep into the ground, leaving a trail of smoke beginning to drift upward. But still, Minor stayed frozen as if he had grown root to the spot, only daring to flinch.
I couldn't simply stand there-- she had just attacked. Yet Minor stood there as if it was nothing out for the normal, even though she had fired her weapon. I knew I had to attempt to reason with her, despite the danger. "Listen up," I said, allowing myself to step forward. "Whether you know it or not, we mean you no harm. Whatever Ursa Minor has done, there's no reason to speak to him like that!"
Her hazel eyes remained focused on the taller boy. She ignored my presence as if I were a whisper of the blowing wind. But that didn't stop her brow from raising. "You brought friends too, did you? From the borders of White Pines, I can smell obviously. I'm not as blind as you are in thus."
"Muscida, really, I have a explanation!" Ursa Minor said. His begging eyes studied blades of grass with a fierce passion.
"Oh, I'm quite sure you do," She said. "Try to think as I do; they will only take more of our limited supplies. You know the rules, Minor. No outsiders are permitted inside Haven. You even were provided with the reason, but you decided they weren't as important as getting yourself deeper into trouble, didn't you?"There was a silence. I waited for his burst of anger. The Ursa Minor I knew would never stand to be treated so despicably. But, turning my head sideways to look at him, I saw him shaking. When he spoke, however, his voice was still held its playful tone without a trace of the anxiety that he was showing in his stance.
