The sterile room stunk of medicine and lab equipment, the lighting enough to potentially blind anyone who dared to look dead into it. The floors were made of a polished marble sand, the ceilings large enough to contain the massive figure which lay like a rag doll against the cool wall of stone. Faintly, the noises of chatter could be made out from above, where a dulled rectangular glass was carved. Large cuffs of reflectum gnawed awkwardly at his wrists, which hung high above his head. Hair that once was as dark and rich in color as chocolate now lay limp against his skin, the weary body taking every breath gratefully. His eyes were closed softly, but a gentle voice roused him.
"Gemini, please tell me the order of things as you know it."
He heard her out of his Twin brother's ear. Leaving his eyes closed, Gemini extended his vision by allowing his mind to include his brother's perspective. He looked around the black cell, taking in the musty odor. He could feel the dirt of the concrete floors beneath his fingertips. For a moment, he willed his Twin to move his hands, much to Gemini's annoyance. However, when Gemini wiggled his fingers, he could still feel the tightness of his own chains.
The sensation of being a Caidozian for Gemini was best compared to a feeling of momentary peace. Finally, could he act upon what he thought alone without having to share the mindset of his Twin. It was if he had sliced himself into two halves, yet both he and his brother could still potentially control the other. If the other Twin pleased, he could borrow all six senses of one brother while still using his own. When Quen Virgo fell asleep, he shared the moment of her soothing, light breathing with his brother, speaking not a word to him. His Twin didn't question his silence, however, for he lay half dead against the wall with him, stunned by the brightness of the room. It was as though he was in two places at once, but he wasn't. While one Twin's wrists were bound by chains, the other unconsciously rubbed his own.
"Gemini.""Hm?" He stirred, looking over to his left before he looked down on where Queen Virgo rested in her own cell. He could barely make out her features in the darkness, though he tried. At the size he was, everything seemed tiny. He sighed. "My apologies, did you say something?" Gemini thought he could make out a hint of a frown.
"Are there any times in which they actually take us out of the cells? I feel as though that information make prove helpful in my plan. "
The Other Twin chuckled darkly. "As if they'd let you out for anything other than to answer the call of nature," He said, prying open his eyelids. The faint whip of a white coat in the window above had him squinting to make out small figures that stared down at him. He supposed they must have forgotten to turn on the one-way glass. He took that opportunity to stick out his tongue.
"Gemini, cut it out," The Other Twin said, eyes narrowing in anger. "Where are your manners of proper respect to Queen Virgo? At the very least she is attempting to view this situation in as positive a light as possible."
"Heh, a light, huh?" He chuckled, squeezing his bloodshot eyes against a dull pain in his temple. "Nice one.""Is he talking to you again, Gemini?" Virgo asked, raising a hand as if to reach him.
He inhaled sharply when her fingers neared the bars. However, she drew up short, only looking up into his eyes. He let out a sigh of relief.
"Why is she talking about me as if I'm a ghost?" His brother said aloud again, invoking a small amount of irritation from his brother. "She does know that I can hear her, right? Where's her respect for me?"
"Sorry, your highness," Gemini said, mentally blocking him out. "My brother's just a little peeved at the moment. Please excuse my behavior. I guess I was a bit startled by how his personality's been chain-ging recently."Despite being chained to the wall, he cracked up loudly with a large grin. A red siren began to wail frantically at his commotion, and the low chatter behind the window ceased momentarily. "Now, that was a good one, Gemini. But do not think for a second that your antics will distract me. I can still never forgive you for your crimes," He said, forcing himself to still. With his new sense of calmness, the lighting slowly returned to normal and the Caidozologists appeared to return back to heir glass clipboards without a second concern.
As if they had any concern in the first place.
"You should have let me die, brother," He whispered, low enough only for his Twin to hear. "You have the audacity to speak of proper respect to the queen, even though your selfishness is what imprisoned her in the first place. I despise you." He allowed his head to drop on his chest.
