The Longest Winter Ever

Chapter 18

After Revan told me his secret it was time for me to tell him my back story. I sighed and looked down at the ground.

"It all started 300 years ago. My father, or I should say Vampire lord, tried to get me to wipe out an entire village nearby for training."

**********FLASHBACK**********

I walked up to my dads throne after being called there. I kneeled in front of his throne and put my head down.

"Father, you called me?" I could tolerate my father but sometimes he made me mad.

"Yes Elvar. As you know, you are going to be the next Vampire Lord so I would like to see your strength. There is a village nearby, I want you to kill everyone in it and bring back the skin of their leader." My dad sat up and looked down on me.

I flinched and looked up, "I don't think I can do that father."

He sighed and stood up, "When will you accept that you're a monster and act like one!!" He kicked me in the stomach hard and I went flying back.

I held my stomach and looked up, "I never asked to be a monster, so I'm not gonna act like one."

My fathers eyes widened and he pointed at me. Guards from each side grabbed me and one of them hit me in the back of the neck making me pass out.

I woke up and noticed my arms and legs had chains on them. I looked over to see I was in the jail.

I tried and tried but I was trapped in there. Days passed, then weeks and I was growing very hungry and weak till finally the door opened.

My dad stood there with some girl, and he laughed seeing my weak state.

"I have found a replacement of you. She will become the vampire lord and this is where your life ends." He nodded once and the girl ran in and tried to stab me.

That's when I lost control. My vampire powers engulfed my body and I ripped the chains free. I grabbed the girl by the throat and clawed the left side of her face leaving three big cuts.

She screamed and I felt my dad separate us. I threw both of hem away and charged out of the cell.

"Ever since that day, I've been running. And I've always tried to get rid of my vampire side." I looked down again.

"That's one hell of a story." Revan sat next to me.

"Yeah, even though I try to hide my vampire side. The thirst for blood over powers sometimes and I can't help it." I smiled and laughed.

"What's so funny?" Revan looked at me and I smiled.

"I forgot to mention that I'm not a child!" I slowly let my body form into a 20 year old. My hair grew longer and my body aged.

I opened my eyes to see Revan with a shocked look. "You can control your age?"

I nodded and he looked confused, "why do you choose to be a 10 year old then?"

"Because people are nicer to me and they never even think that if be a vampire." I slowly morphed back to a 10 year old and gave a smile.

"You need to tell the others your story. They'll understand." I nodded and closed my eyes.

"I will next time I see them."
