Scarlett was reading her script for her new movie. Her character was about a lady who just got out of divorce. The lady was a few months pregnant and her ex husband didn't know about the child, due to the fear of rejection. The lady hid the truth to her ex husband.
Scarlett just scoffed at what she had read. In her mind she thought just how cowardly the character was to do something like that.
She was used to characters who fight. Fight for what is right and never give up. Somehow that trait had been engraved to Scarlett's mind already and was living up to it.
This new character that she was going to play was kind of different from her. She didn't know if she could portray it properly.
Her phone suddenly rang disrupting her thoughts. Looking at the caller I.D. She rolled her eyes. It's none other than her worst enemy/bestfried Chris Evans.
"What do you want Evans?"
"You." Chris answered with a little laugh at the end of his answer.
"What?" Scarlett screamed at her phone. This man was really irritating her.
"Chill man, I was just kidding. Anyways I wanted to inform you that I'll be seeing you soon ."
"Why?" A confused Scarlett asked.
"Well,I don't know maybe because I was going to be your partner." Chris said.
"I don't know what the hell are you talking about." She answered.
"I'm going to be your leading man!" Chris squealed.
"Oh sweet Jesus! How did that happened?"
"Well they think that we suited each other pretty well." Chris boasted.
"Ha ha ha. You really are one hell of a funny man." Scarlett said pretending to put some sarcasm in it.
"Anyways I got things to do. So see you soon Evans." But before she could end the call Chris added." See you soon ScarJo!"
"F*ck you!" She ended the call and threw her phone on the bed. He really knew how to annoy her.
Chris knew that Scarlett hated that nickname very much because she somehow feel disrespected whenever someone calls her that. Yet still he continuously do it.
He loves making fun of Scarlett and he really likes it when she gets all riled up because she's really funny.
Thinking about what Chris had told her brought a smile on Scarlett's lips. People thought that they fit perfectly together. Well she thought that too. The truth was, she badly wanted to tell Chris how she was truly thankful for him.
Chris had been the supportive friend that Scarlett needed when she was lost.
Ever since her divorce with Ryan Reynolds, Scarlett had been secretive. She didn't want anyone to know that she was suffering. She wanted to mask everything including her real self. So she completely shut the whole world out.
A few months after her divorce Marvel Studios announced that she was still going to portray the role the Black Widow in the movie the Avengers. She thoughts that maybe it was time to do something new. Something that would help her forget Ryan.
That was when she met Chris again. And that was when her whole world turned a 360 degrees again.
They both had been good friends ever since, they had done a pretty fair share of movies together one of which was when the both of them had been partners. She played the as fresh graduate looking for work and ended up as a nanny, he on the other hand played the part of a hot college jock.
Being with Chris again haf really changed her perspective about life. Chris had helped her get through the depression of her divorce. He made her laugh with his funny faces. He made her mad due to his notorious pranks and he made her cry, but during those crying moments Chris was always at her side, hugging her, taking care of her. Chris had been her real life knight in shinning armor. He really lived up his role as Captain America in her life.
Chris may not have known this but he actually saved Scarlett.
All of the moments they shared together came flashing back in her mind. She knew that she was already feeling something towards Chris but she was afraid to say out loud in the fear of being rejected and being left behind again.
This realization made Scarlett look at the piece of paper in front of her.
Now she understood the lady that she was going to portray. Somehow this lady was her in other ways. The two of them had been divorced, the both of them had been hurt and they both feared the thought of rejection. The two of them were hiding the truth in order for them to get away from somebody.
