Chapter 3

It was her who he truly loves, not me.

This was what has been going on inside Scarlett's head the moment she saw a post about Chris and Elizabeth.

Yes, Elizabeth Olsen. The one who stole her light, the one who stole her love.

From what she had seen it was one of the videos of the premier of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Elizabeth was talking to a fan, beside her was a frowning Chris.

While she was talking to the fan she caresses the fan's hand and talked to him.

Chris saw what the fan was doing and he quickly snatched Elizabeth's hand and hold on to it.

So that's the reason why he didn't notice her that day.

Scarlett could still remember that awful day.

She arrived at the premier night wearing a simple black dress that reached just above her knee. People quickly flashed their cameras at her and she smiled at them loving their attention.

Then she came. Elizabeth Olsen came and all of the people swarmed in to her and away from Scarlett.

She spotted Chris along with the other cast. She beamed at him but it seems like he did notice her. Slowly she made her way towards them then Chris was suddenly walking in her direction. He was frowning at something.

Didn't he like my dress?

She looked at herself. She checked how she looked and had not seen any flaw. When she looked back up she noticed that Chris was already near. She smiled again at him but he just passed by her.

She was shocked of course. That was the first time that he had ignored her. Instead of felling disappointed she just smiled and continued to walk the red carpet. Alone.

She once again looked back at them as she reached the podium and noticed that Chris was ushering Elizabeth. He was guiding her. Just like the way he did to her before. His arms were around her waist and he was looking directly into her eyes. He was giving Elizabeth one of those looks that would surely make her fall.

Scarlett couldn't help but get hurt and be mad at the couple because they were happy and she was not. Although there's no point of being mad she just felt the rage inside her.

The cast was announced already and was given their respective seats but since Elizabeth was just a new character she was placed at the near end of the table. Scarlett was beside Chris.

He still hadn't noticed her. That's ok though because she knew that everything they showed the people was just an act. She really could understand.

As they sat she couldn't help but look at Chris' way, by now he was not looking at Elizabeth but rather at the reporter who was asking a question. Then she looked at Elizabeth she was also staring at Chris the way she was doing. When she noticed this she quickly looked away.

During the whole premier night Scarlett was quiet and no one even noticed not even Renner whom she also considered as a close friend. He, was also smitten by Elizabeth. She could remember that he had only greeted her and after that he fleeted.

As she was staring at the scene before her eyes she realized something.

She was seeing her family slipping away. The family that she once belong was now being taken away from her and she's fine with that.

That's how it really has been. People leaving her after they make her feel secured. It was like they were breaking down her walls due to the promise that they would protect her but once they had seen her inner self they would leave her. Bare.

Since no one was paying attention to her she slowly get away from the scene. All she wanted to do now is lay down her bed and cuddle her pillow but she couldn't. So she went to the garden and sat on the bench. Then she gazed up the sky and see how beautiful it was. The stars were twinkling and dancing in her eyes.

Slowly her vision got blurred and after that tears were falling down her cheeks.

That night as she stare at the beautiful night sky she realized how she misses the care of a person. The care of someone who wouldn't want anything in return, the care of one person who would really stay.

That night she also realized that no one could truly care for her. And no one could really love her.

Now after watching the video if Chris and Elizabeth she said to herself that she would never assume again. She would never open her heart again.
