"Oh my god Stel's... You weigh so much!" I whine at her half jokingly.

"Shut up Alec." She tiredly says to me.

Remind me why I'm carrying my sister all the way from her party to our house again? Oh right. She literally passed out from all the dancing. Stupid right, but she's a weird one all right.

We finally got home and I helped her into bed. Mom and dad wanted to go to a friends house for drinks. They probably won't be home until the morning.

She stirred in her sleep and started to kick at her heels. I sighed to myself and took her shoes off and pulled the blankets to cover her up.

I walked out of her room and went down the hall to my own and got my own pajama's on.

That night I couldn't sleep. I kept tossing and turning, getting up to get drinks of water, checking on Stel's and just walking around the house. I didn't want to leave but I needed to. It was the only way I could keep my family safe.

~The Next Morning ~

I was in the kitchen making Stella's favorite. Blueberry pancakes with toast. Weird combination but it's her favorite and I'll need all the luck on my side of I'm going to talk to her.

As I was about finished with her breakfast she came into the kitchen with her hair pulled back, a pair of shorts and a sports bra.

She smiled at me and sat down at the table.

"Mmmmm what's that smell Al?" She smiled at me.

"It's your favorite Stel's, blueberry pancakes and toast."

Well now is as good a time as ever.

"Look Stel's I won't be here all the time to look after you. You need to take care of yourself and no one else. The world isn't what it use to be anymore, no one stands around a fire holding hands. Everyone is hateful towards each other and only looks out for themselves. I don't want to see you go down a path that will hurt you or worse. Ok?" I was almost out of breath when I was done with my rant.

"Ok.." She replied back to me.

I sighed and gave her the pancakes and toast and gave her a side hug.

"I love you Stel's, never forget it ok?" I whispered to her.

She gave me a full hug after a minute of eating before responding.

   "I love you too Alec."

I got up and walked back to my room and got the bag of clothes and food I had packed earlier this morning. I also put the note that I wrote to Stella on my bed and climbed out of my window, started walking down the road and didn't look back.
