~The Next Morning~

I woke up to the sound of hushed whispers outside my bedroom door. Like that isn't creepy at all, right? I pulled the covers off of me and walked over to the door, opening it just wide enough to see outside of it.

"We can't keep doing this anymore Kathy." My father said to my mother, who was shaking with tears.

"But Mike, she's our baby girl. We've already lost Alec, I can't lose her too." My mother whispered.

"You know we don't have a choice. We have to do this, soon. If we don't, we'll die." My father held my mother closely to him, while running his fingers through her hair.

"How much longer do we have with her?" My mother asked.

"About two more years, until she turns 16." My father replied quietly.

I closed my bedroom door and slid down the back of it. I knew it was coming sooner or later, I just didn't know how much sooner. And my parents, how could they? I thought they loved me. They care about themselves more than me, their own flesh and blood. I sighed and stood up.

I went into my closet looking for something to wear. I had no clue what the weather was like today, but I'll stick to what is mainly crowding up my closet space. I picked out a pair of black high waisted jean shorts and a tank top with the words Fall Out Boy, whatever that means, on the front. I then pulled out my ankle high combat boots to go with my outfit.

When I'm satisfied with how I look and gather all my things together, I go out to the front door.

"I'm going out!" I yell to whoever can hear me.

"Where are you going dear?" I hear my mother ask.

"Just need to go clear my head is all. I'll be back before dark." I replied and walked out of the house.

Maybe I should go talk to Maddie and Parker.

No.

They didn't tell me Alec was leaving us. They deserve the silent treatment from me for once in their lives.

I ended up walking to the rich side of town. I've never came up hear without Alec, he always told me it was dangerous.

For some reason though, I believed that if I was in any trouble, he would be able to tell. Then I would get to see him again!

As I was thinking to myself I didn't pay attention to the people walking towards me. I accidentally bumped into them and fell back onto my rear end.

"Well well well, what have we here?" Said one of the guys.

"Some low life walking around on our streets it looks like Travis." Said the second one.

I stood up and straightened myself out.

"I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." I replied quietly. I started to walk away when one of the boys, Travis I think the other said, grabbed the back of my shirt and pulled me towards him.

"Well that kind of behavior ain't tolerated here, is it Dan?" Travis said.

"Nope. It sure ain't, Travis." Dan replied.

"Please let me go." I tried to get out of his grasp, but he was holding on to tight.

They started to pull me into a nearby alleyway and pushed me up against the wall.

I hit my head pretty hard, to the point where I could feel something warm trickle down my neck, which I could only assume was blood.

One held me while the other punched me, repeatedly in the stomach. Then they switched and the other punched me in the jaw once or twice. I couldn't remember, it was getting a bit blurry at that point.

The last thing I remembered was someone yelling at the other end of the alleyway and being dropped, before I passed out cold.
