Chapter 10 Memories on Horseback

Levi's POV

It's still embarrassing to think I need a help when it comes to getting on horses. At least Eren helped me up and he didn't have to see my stool. It would have just been embarrassing if he saw me with the stool. As our horses trot at a leisurely we ride in silence, only broken by the occasional yawn. 

I think idly in the silence, I remember the first time I saw Eren. I had been at the Trost District for some obscure meeting for some stupid thing I don't remember. When I saw the recruits in the midst of training and I noticed Eren. As far as recruits go, Eren was rather attractive.  I have seen many attractive recruits before so I did not bother with a second glance.

Then my mind skipped back to when I beat up Eren in court. I didn't actually want to hurt him or brake his beautiful face with my extremely hard kick. I know for a fact that when it comes to hand to hand combat, I am one of the best. Hanji in particular said "Damn Levi, you kicked my butt and then kicked my face, Oww!" I don't remember what I replied with but it was without a doubt some witty comment.

Oh, Hanji, that reminds me of the secret that I'm keeping from Eren... Only Hanji knows my secret. I don't know what we are, but friends doesn't quite cover it. Friends are people you hangout with and have common interests with. Hanji and I on the other hand do not have similar interests and we barley have time to hangout. But people do form some kind of connection when they are forced together in life or death situations.

I remember the day I told Hanji my secret, we had guard duty together, but that night beyond the wall, it was quiet. 

Hey, Hanji" I whisper in the darkness "I gotta tell you something" 

"Sure Levi, what is it?" She says yawning.

"Hanji, I'm bi" I blurt out quickly 

I have been so afraid to tell people this. If people ever found out, I don't know what I would do. I could get demoted if Erwin (and his damn eyebrows) ever found out. I still haven't told four eyes that I had a crush on her once, although I moved on from that. I can't imagine Hanji's reaction if she saw me with Eren or knew what we did together. 

"Levi, you okay?" Eren calls over his shoulder looking back at me. "You look like you're glaring" he says worriedly.

"Sorry just thinking..." I say quickly as we enter the forest.
