Hey guys, just wanted to apologize for taking so long to update. Sadly I was super sick, and got dizzy every time I tried to type on the computer, but I'm finally here! This chapter is sorta all over the place, but is relatively long and happy so yay! Hope you all enjoy this chapter. –Vamp Lover
Your POV
I had never been inside an x-wing before, but it looked rather complicated. Two seats sat back to back, one facing the controls, that had more buttons than I have ever seen in my entire life. The other faced what appeared to be gun controls, which looked slightly less complicated, but still not particularly easy.
Han let out a groan, "You really had to find this bucket of bolts?"
I raised an eyebrow, "What's wrong with this ship?"
"Princess, it's so old I'll be surprised if it will fly. There isn't a place to put a droid, which I guess isn't too bad seeming we don't have one. All of the controls are manual, and probably work best with two experienced fliers, but if I can get the control gages and speed boosters under control we should be fine," Han became deep in thought looking at all the buttons and controls.
"Uh okay," I mumbled dumbfounded.
He looked over at me, "I'll break it down for you. You shoot, I fly."
"Okay I can handle that," I said, plopping down into the seat facing the guns. How hard could it really be?
Han sat down in the pilot seat, and began flipping on switches and pushing several buttons.
"You do know how to fly this right?" I asked cautiously.
"Hey, best pilot in the galaxy you're talking to. I've got a better question, do you know how to shoot?" Han questioned, as a hole in the roof opened for our departure.
"Sure I do," I lied, "just aim and fire."
Han let out a small sigh, "I've got a bad feeling about this."
I ignored him and looked at what was in front of me. Two sets of controls faced me. They seemed to look like two separate guns, one large and the other smaller and more practical. Both sets of controls had two spots for my hands and small radars attached to their main parts. At least I could see what I was trying to shoot.
The ship let out a shake, and something that sounded like a really large stomach ache. Slowly, we began to ascend into the air.
"Alright, since our guns are in the back of the ship versus the front we'll be at a disadvantage. We'll have to go fast, and wait until out enemies are behind us to fire. Sadly, that'll be a perfect time for them to shoot at us. So lets hope your aiming and firing skills are top notch," Han said, his teasing demeanor long gone.
"Okay lets do it," I said shakily.
Our ship was well in the air now, the radios, that I didn't know existed, began to pick up noises and signals.
"How exactly do you know where you're going?" I asked.
"I don't," Han replied simply.
"Oh that's reassuring," I shook my head.
I looked over my shoulder, through the main windshield that Han was facing. Millions of stars passed by us as we flew, and out of the corner of my eye I could see another ship.
"Friend or foe?" I questioned, looking down at my radar devices.
"Friend, listen to the radio."
I focused my attention on the radio, several voices were beginning to come through, meaning we were in range of other x-wings. "Red leader signing on, red fox signing on," several voices were calling out their names.
