Hearts are such funny things aren't they? At times, they seem so resilient and strong: and we all are in awe of their determination, because they should have shattered under the weight of the world.

Other times, the heart is incredibly fragile and the heart breaking is inevitable.

You can't tell the heart what to do, who to love, how to feel. But you don't have to listen to your heart, you don't have to run off cliffs with it, hoping you'll dive into someone's arms. You don't have to break with it. You don't have to weep or bleed with it.

You heart is just an organ, all it does is keep you alive. It's not some metaphysical thing, some mystique, spiritual entity or gift. It's just a piece of meat that rests inside your ribcage.

You don't have to follow your heart.

Your heart will break, but your heart will mend. Your heart will feel sad, but eventually it'll be happy again. It will grow heavy, and it will become light.

Your heart doesn't need to decide your future.
