A piece of life advice, that I can't forget, is that you should never be around people who don't ask you how you are.

It's simple, it's three words. They're not hard to remember, and it's polite to ask. I always ask, and it stings when someone doesn't ask back. It's rude of them, but maybe it's rude of me to expect that common courtesy--no, it's not rude of me to expect something as simple as "How are you?".

People don't ask, because  people don't want to know. People don't want to know, because they don't care and don't want to deal with you.

You deserve better than that. You deserve people who annoy you by wondering how you are, but at the same time those people make you feel...loved.
