your feet

so heavy

weighing you down

the land

a burden upon you

death

the scene was death

deadly

dying

everyone was dying

like a god,

you continued

feeling yourself die

a little more as each comrade was shot down

you looked immortal

but you didn't feel it

among the dead and dying

you were alive

but you didn't feel it

all you felt was terror

terror

as your legs worked like clockwork

taking you further away
