CHARACTERS: Shreya Malhotra - 20 years old and this is her story. Whole story will be written in her p.o.v for now; unless stated otherwise at the top of a chapter.
Arush Mittal - 21 years old , married to Shreya.
Joshua Michelson - 20 years old , Shreya's best friend and not the male lead.
Sean Malhotra - 19 years old , Shreya's brother.
Alicia Mittal - 18 years old , Arush's sister.
P.S: Only main characters are mentioned,in case of any confusion, other characters would be explained in respective author notes.
The Beginning
"You know what, I'm sick of this college and stuff".
"Are you? Because, if I know you and that I do,you were the most excited person on the planet when we started college".
"Don't even remind me. Yeah,well I did like it then, but who knew studying English would have been this hard, ugh".
Well, just dont zone out, it was our usual conversations on the way to college. That is me and my childhood best guy friend, Joshua. While I sort of persuaded him to opt for english hons. at the start of the year, now I was lacking interest myself. I'm a very frickle minded person, you see. And just the person he is, Joshua was hell bent on encouraging me.

Back to convo:
"Ok, don't fitter, shreya. You'll be alright. Just remember, exams are round the corner and drop your distracting materials for a while and you'll be good. I promise", he said, smiling.
This was so like him. He always loved to take responsibilities, and make me feel protected.
And not to prolong any suspense, yes he loved me. I was not one of those stupid douche who would stick with someone whole of their lives and not realise the other person is in love with them.
I've known since we hit 13.
Well he awkwardly proposed, I clearly explained to him that I wasn't attracted towards him sexually.
He said he perfectly understood.
I knew better.
He subsided his feelings to be with me.
"Hey, what are you thinking? Come back to me", his voice brought me back from my journey down memory lane.
"Yeah, ok Josh, I'm all prepped up. We'll arrange a timetable and prepare for this exam like our life depends upon it." I chuckled.
"Actually, our life does depend on it".
"Whatever, Josh", I said as we parted ways for our respective classes, we both had honours in English, but pass subjects were different.
Some hours later»»
It was when we were returning to our hostels, my brother called. See, in order to attend the college, we had to stay in hostels, though our homes were quite near.
"Hey". He greeted.
"Hey, what's up?" I replied.
"Umm, yeah, so I called to tell you that you need to come back home now.." my brother, Sean said.
"What? Why? Why are you nervous ?What happened? Who's dead? Are you alright? Dad,mom.." I went to the panic mode,when Sean cut me in.
"No, no. Relax, everyone's fine. Relax its nothing bad."
Though he tried to calm me, but I knew better. Something was definitely up.
"Then, why do I need to get back now, when its only Tuesday today and I just visited this weekend. No, tell me, Sean if anyone is ill or dying, just tell me. I'm strong enough to take it. Tell me please."
To my great dismay, by this time we had reached my abode and Josh stopped the car and took my phone from my hand.
"Hey, Sean, its me Josh. What's the matter?" He asked.
After this he kept nodding his head and then left the car and went outside to talk. What troubled me was his expression when he left. I never saw him this grave. It was also his expression that kept me from getting out.
If Sean said no one was ill, why would they need me urgently and why didn't ma or dad call.
Urgh, I knew one thing for sure that I was in deep trouble.
