Josh didn't talk to me at all since yesterday's phone call. He just returned my phone and told me to go back home and that it was the best thing for me.
So here I am, driving home. With the ongoing mental turmoil, I'm very doubtful of my chances to get there unscathed.
Well the first thing that strucks me on reaching the entrance of my house, is a SUV standing at our porch. So, we have a visitor.
Wait, is he/she responsible for this summoning? I can only hope for the best.
I parked my car and headed towards the house. I rang the bell.
Mom answered.
"Oh, you are here", my mom hugged me tightly but I saw worry in her eyes and sadness. What possibly could be the problem?
"Ma, what is it? Will you please tell me now after I went through emotional roller coaster since yesterday and missed college and drove for 3 hours, god knows what Sean told Josh, let alone coming with me, he's barely talked after the phone call".
It was like this always, I was the closest to my mom and I could pent up my anger, irritation all in front of her.
"Is she here?" Ah,dad's voice. He sounded grave, defeated. What the heck is going on?
"Yay, I'm here father, please will you people enlighten me?"
I was frustrated by this point."Of course, before that will you meet me up in the living room after you freshen up?" he said patting on my shoulders and left.
"Okay." I replied though no one was there to hear me. I didn't realize when ma left, so unlikely of her.
I'm a very impatient type of a person but my parents' looks, Sean's voice and Josh's behavior all willed me to hold my impatience. I headed for my room. This better be good (or bad).
Half an hour later★★★★
As I knew someone or multiple people were home, so I put on a nice beige color top and hot pants for my outfit. Lets face the world!
In the living room,I saw my parents seated on the sofa and a stranger on the love couch.
Who's he?
He looked to be of my age and was really well built and handsome, but hey, now is not the time to hit on a stranger.
"Uhhm, dad?"
I made them aware of my presence.
The stranger looked up from his phone and I noticed he had brown eyes and they sparkled.
(Lame me. *rolling eyes* )
"Ya, Shreya come here and sit. We have to say something." Dad said.
I went to sit beside ma.Seeing that, no one was going to speak and Mr.Stranger was intently staring at me, I spoke up.
*cough*
"So, who is he and why was I summoned here as if someone died?" I, the grand orator said.
"Language Shreya, uhh... I'm sorry, never mind. This young man here came yesterday with his father and gave us some, some astounding news, because of which he's here to take you back with him".
Okay, I let what ever happened in the last two minutes sink in slow.
Dad apologized to me for scolding me, then told that this jerk was here to take me with him (no, I no longer would be calling him hot, my judgement, urgh. He's just the devil, tempting the mortal with good exterior.)
Anyway, carrying on with my deductions, probably, it is because of my parents' sins that they're indebted to Mr. Stranger so he has the right to take me. Because I can't think of any other reason, so as to why would my parents listen to him.
Great theory! Wow!
I sometimes wonder how could my mind be this great.Wait, what!? No bloody person has rights on me. Even if my parents had a tryst, they can't impose that on me.
"What the hell was that? I don't understand you father, please elucidate".
I said the last part looking at my abductor. Hell, who's even going with him."That was a bad explanation, I'll tell you", said my mom with a nervous laughter.
She was suddenly very cool and poised. I raised my eyebrows at her.
"Uhhm, so firstly meet Arush, he is business tycoon, Amir Mittal's eldest son, he's of your age, just a few months older. He plays ball and piano. He has a younger sister and they live in New Zealand, Auckland to be precise."
By the end of her sappy introduction, she gave a smile to the jerk. Palm face moment.
"Mom, stop. I don't see any reason why I should know him that well. Just come to the point." I chided in.
"Uhh yes dear, its just that yesterday they came over and told us about this."
She pushed a centuries old file towards me. I questioned her with my eyes."Read it, you'll understand". She replied serenely.
So that is what I did.
