Even though Arush and my relation didn't improve from the no-talk zone, he at least again began to show himself. He would eat together, and sometimes sit by the fire place, reading magazines, on the couch beside me, and etcetera.
But since Jo came to pick me up, we didn't go to college together, and I think he itched to go with me. I think, just by his looks, I, the owner of one hell of an over imaginative brain just thinks it could be that way.

All would have been this way, until the day we parted, if Mr. Mittal didn't show up once in a while and (I don't know why) both of us behaved like an obedient, loving couple in front of him.
And, one day, on one of his regular visits, he suddenly says, "I think it's time Shreya meets with the family. What do you propose son?"

Even before giving Arush the time to form an answer or me to formulate what he meant by family, he said again, "Although I think it would be the best if you take her and meet your little sister in the break, which starts, most probably tomorrow, right?"

Again, before he could reply or I could object on spending my winter break I don't know where, Arush's dad got up.

"I'll arrange your stay at Paraleague and mail her school, permitting you to be her guardian this time," glancing at his watch, he added, "I don't suppose I have any spare time left, I'll see you two soon. I think you'd be delighted to meet your sister in law, Shreya, have a good holiday."
And off he went.

I was amazed how I didn't notice how obnoxious he was before, maybe because we really didn't talk much in our 'family' gatherings, and they started with Amir asking how we were and ended with his, "I'll see you later"., I failed to figure out, he hardly gave the scope for anyone to talk.

Woah. I looked at Arush, he wasn't embezzled like me, having an upper hand in experience, obviously, but strangely looked sad.

"Hey, so tomorrow we go to see your sister, oh right, she's the great artist, right?" I try to strike a conversation.

"Alicia. Yes." He said and got up.

His tired behavior reminded me of his tiff with his sister. Their relation was not civil and the very next day I arrived here, Arush even wanted to take me to her, only the visit didn't happen.
Although, our relation has grown to be a very cold one, I rekindled how we were managing it before the college episode, it was far better than now.

Since, I had to go to Paraleague anyway, I decided to find out the story behind their tussle.

I went up and knocked on his door. No reply. Maybe, he fell asleep. I knocked again anyway, this time softly calling his name, too.
He immediately answered.

"Oh, I didn't know it was you, come in." He ushered.

His room was the same as I'd seen last time and went to sit on the bed.

"So, you never told me about your sister much."

"I did, that she was an artist."

"And, also that you'd be the bigger person and go meet her. What you didn't say was what made you two this way." I said.

"Oh, yeah." He sighed.

Later.

Gazing at the clear blue sky, encompassed by foliage is hands down the best way to unclog your mind and attain serenity.

Talking to Arush under the open blue, felt really uplifting, even though the topic was quite the opposite of anything positive.

Arush's evil mother who had no plans of marrying his father, was forced to marry although she left pretty soon, leaving behind the 9 months old Alicia and 2 years old Arush.

The kids had no where abouts of their mother for a long time. She entered back into their lives when Alicia entered art school and went to hostel.
The two kids were very close, so close that, Alicia called her brother immediately after she received her mother's letter. In the letter their mother had complained of the injustice done to her and wanted her children back. She also mentioned that she loved them and would soon contact them. Alli was ecstatic, while Arush pondered why did he not receive any letter, since she feared Amir, so she'd addressed both of them in one letter, he reasoned later on.

Weirdly they did not receive any sort of letter for a few months after that and had begun to think all of this was a big dream when suddenly Alicia called so excited from her school as if she's seen some ghost or something. Arush could barely make out what she was trying to say, but he got the essence, that is to come to school by 2.
Their mother had promised to come there to meet.

It wasn't the end of surprises. When Arush reached Alicia's school cafeteria, she was sitting across a man and woman, the woman resembling someone from the family photos back home, therefore recognizing as his mother.

But as soon as Keira Bentham, their mother noticed Arush, she got up bewildered and accused him off spying on his sister. Dumbfounded, he didn't know what was happening, then Alli spoke that Keira'd written all those letters to Alicia alone, it was Alicia who assumed them to be addressed to both the siblings, so, she'd always read them out to her brother as if it were addressed plural.
But actually, Keira never aimed to reach out to both of her kids, but only to the daughter. Asking for the reason behind this, Keira had explained Arush rendered whatever had happened to her today and she's gonna rescue her daughter from the mayhem, thereafter she marched off.

After that day, the siblings grew apart, despite Arush's innocence, Alicia was too thirsty for mother's love, and wouldn't believe him. Arush got to know that Keira used to regularly meet her, although he knew it was toxic, he still couldn't dare to inform his father.
But somehow Amir found out. And he's blocked out all possible ways of contact since then between the ladies., with no letters to be given to her,a 24/7 bodyguard, no calls to be forwarded before connecting Mr. Mittal, for the starters.

And as you can guess, Alicia holds Arush responsible for her caged up life and the loss of her mother twice in 19 years.

To be honest, I was a bit unsure as to what I should do in this situation. Although, it was built up on  misunderstanding, yet I didn't think it was in my right to dwell in between them. And her description seemed her to be sweet, who loved her brother, but now she hates him and had grown to be feisty. Ew. I loath cat fights. But my inhibitions faltered after looking at Arush's hopeful face. He believes I'll be of help. I should.

Okay sissy, here we come.
