"So, how is this? Is this too much you know, uh , I don't know, maybe I should change." I turned away from the mirror and headed towards the bathroom.
Arush immediately got up from my bed and held my arms, "No, absolutely not. You have already changed six zillion times, I mean, you are looking great, so good that I don't know how am I going to ..."
"What?" I was too depressed to know what he was hinting at , not in the mood, if you mean something, you gotta say that, bud.
"Uh, I mean, this is perfect, now we should really go, come."
He dragged me down, fearing I could change my dress again, btw I was wearing a grey dress, that reached up to my knees, decent length, decent, actually dull color, so I guess, my defense mechanism of mixing into the crowd could certainly work, maybe.Personally, I got freaked out now and then, but on lower levels; this was big, very big. I've never really been out of my comfort zone as per say.
Though, yesterday after he bombed my college news, everyone, i.e; Arush, Martha, Simon, Cara, Lily, Patricia, everyone has been very very supportive, well in case you didn't know, the last three names belong to the three wonderful women, who work here. They'd first arranged a comic movie session, don't get me wrong, but comedy was what I needed then, well this was complemented by delicious desserts and magnum ice creams. Yum!
After that, Arush and Simon were kicked out and we girls had our share of fun, with music, ramp walks(in my room, with everyone in their usual clothes), dancing, more food, interesting talk about boys and boyfriends and ex-es.
The girls even helped me pick out some clothes for today. But all of those got rejected by me the moment I saw them this morning .
I'm crazy, I know.
*dramatically sighs*
In the car, I kept asking him about the college. How big was it? How far was his wing from mine? Do we have any classes in common? Is he gonna pick me up at the end of the day? And what not.
At first, he tried to be jovial and answer me cheerfully, then slowly his responses got shorter.
I thought, he got frustrated by me and my questions; when I asked him that, he shook his head and said he was worried I might pass out because of mental breakdown so he put the radio on, to calm me down and said me to shut my eyes.
"See, I have my classes down the hall, across this building; you come out here after every class, I'll take you to your next class, similarly I'll take you to lunch, you just don't worry, okay?"
Arush was explaining me the topographical strategy that he had planned, right now we stood in front of the English department. No matter how shitty I got, but his idea seemed simple harassment for him.
"No, I can't do that, you don't have to run back and forth like that , and I need to make friends, I mean we've got different courses, we won't be having same classes all the time, I know I behaved like a jerk before and made you worried for me, but when it comes to real action, I'll manage, I promise."
He shook his head, "No, there is no problem in that and anyway you always stuck with one friend before," I knew he was hinting at Josh, but things were not same, he understood my uneasiness and continued, "Okay, leave that, I got you here, so I should do what ever is in my power to help you."
"I know and you are doing what ever is in your power to help already, but you need to let me stand by myself, okay, now the discussion is over, go, head to your building." I pointed my finger in his department's direction.
But of course he didn't budge, I sighed.
"Arush, I have your number, I know where my class is, I'll be fine, meet you at lunch."
