CALEBS P.O.V
I held Hannas hand tightly for the next 4 hours. I didn't let go. I couldn't. The last time I did we were put in this state, less than 24 hours ago. Everybody had been into visit and one by one everybody began to leave once they had seen Hanna and seen if she was okay. Ashley, Ted and I stayed.
"Caleb why don't you go get a coffee?" Ashley smiled "Hannas sleeping."
In the past 4 hours Hanna had been slightly awake for visitors but asleep for the last 3.
I shook my head "I'll be fine."
"Caleb go get a coffee." She demanded "just clear your mind for 2 minutes. She's okay."
"okay. If anything happens or any news comes when I'm gone then-"
Ted interrupted me "we'll find you."
"Thank you."
I kissed Hanna's head gently before cautiously leaving. The coffee machine was only down the hall, but I didn't want to leave her side for a second. I walked down the white hall. I hated hospitals, the sudden sense of death and injury. Everywhere you walked there were people crying, in pain or dead. It wasn't a nice place. I reached the coffee machine and pressed the button and the warm liquid filled the cup. I picked it up and blew on it for a few seconds so it would cool, before taking a few slow sips. Just this morning I had been in a hospital bed, and now I was up and okay. I couldn't say the same for Hanna and our unborn child. I reached Hannas room and to my surprise Hanna was no longer in the room. Only a worried looking Ashley and Ted.
"Wh-where is she?" I asked.
"They can work out if the baby is okay now, so they've taken her into surgery." Ted gulped and lovingly rubbed Ashleys back comforting her.
I nodded and took a few more sips of the coffee before sitting in the arm chair. It was silence from that moment on, but we were all thinking the same thing. Would the baby be okay.
Doctor Smith-Hannas doctor- walked in and I instantly stood from my seat.
"Hannas just getting cleaned up after surgery." He said.
I nodded "the baby?"
"ah you must be Caleb the father."
I nodded again.
"You've got two fighter's, your baby boy is okay for now."
I froze "boy?"
"yes we were able to tell." He smiled "congratulations."
My frown turned into a grin as doctor Smith left the room and I turned to Ashley and Ted "your having a grandson."
"Me?! You're having a son."
Son. I was having a baby boy with the love of my life. It was my mission to be the best father possible. It always had been, there was no way this boy was having the childhood I did.
