After getting the boys to school, Colin comes back home and waits for Aaliyah to get back. While he's waiting, he gets a call from his agent, the type of call he's been anticipating since the season ended.
"What's up Jay?"
"I've been doing what I can, but the organization wants to explore other options through the draft."
Colin lets out a long sigh. "Okay, what's next?"
"A statement will be released and we'll explore the different options once teams start showing interest, which they will. You're a proven winner, and I think that's something teams will take into consideration."
"Alright, thanks man. It's good to know now so I can get my family prepared for a move." He says and looks up to see Aaliyah walking in the livingroom.
"I'll be in touch."
"Okay." Colin hangs up and tosses his phone on the table.
"What's wrong?" She asks sitting next to him.
"Well, that's was Jay...and free agency is gonna happen." She gently strokes his facial hair.
"You gonna be okay?"
"I really don't have a choice. It was something I expected, so I'm not too hurt. It's just that, I had a good season, especially considered what I was working with."
"It's their loss."
"I just hate that we have to pack up and move."
"Well, sometimes that comes with the profession. You knew that when you got drafted and I knew that when we decided to get back together."
"So you're okay with this."
"Yeah...like I said, I knew what I was getting into..."
"What if I just retire. Who's to say I'll be on my new team for a long time, then I'd just be moving y'all all over the place."
"Colin...you have YEARS left to play. You and I both know you're not ready to retire. You love football too much."
"I do.."
"Exactly, so there's no way I'd let you retire this early. You have one ring, i feel like you have it in you to get more." Colin nods in agreement.
"So how'd it go this morning with brace-face?"
"Baby girl's not brace-face anymore. She's beautiful. Well, she was beautiful before, but you get what I mean."
"I get you. You didn't take a picture?"
"Nah. I figured she would have posted a picture by now..."
"I don't know...I haven't checked."
"She hasn't." Aaliyah says checking her Instagram. "So while we're on the subject of Riley...she has a proposition for us."
"Oh lord. What she want now?"
"To come to fashion week in a couple weeks."
"Didn't we already tell her no."
"Yes. But she said if she can work out an arrangement with her teachers and get her school work."
