The next morning, Riley wakes up to text messages from Isaiah. She left without telling him and he was worried more than anything. He thought maybe her dad made her leave. All he knew was something had to go down.

After doing her daily morning routine, she goes to the balcony that connects to her room and sits down on one of the chairs. There she finally checks her messages and replies to them.

Isaiah🙄: Is everything okay.
Isaiah🙄: I hope I didn't do anything wrong.
Isaiah🙄: Can you please text back so I know if everything's okay.
Isaiah🙄: Goodnight, Ry.

Ms. California 🌴👙🌊: Hey...sorry left you last night.

He immediately texts back.

Isaiah🙄: It's fine. I'm just glad you're okay. What happened?

Ms. California🌴👙🌊: My dad was spying on our date last night, and it made me mad, so I left.

Isaiah🙄: Damn.....well at least I know it's not because you don't like me😌

Ms. California🌴👙🌊: You would have figured it out a looooonnggg time ago if I didn't like you or not.

Isaiah🙄: so like....am I allowed to come to the party tonight? I don't think your dad likes me.

Ms: California🌴👙🌊: It's something he'll have to get over, because there's no way you're not coming.

Isaiah🙄: ooooooo we bout to turn up

In the midst of laughing, Riley hears the door opening, and he laughter comes to a stop. Colin walks outside and takes a seat in the chair next to her.

"I'm sorry, bear." Riley looks over at him. "What I did last night wasn't cool. I was scared."

"Of what? That I'd forget everything you and mommy taught me. I know how to say no to things I'm not comfortable with, or things I know I shouldn't do. You should be able to trust that."

"I do trust that you will be able to make the right decisions. I really do. I just hate that you're growing up on me, bear. You're my only daughter, and I wish you could have stayed the little bubbly four year old forever, but unfortunately that's not how life works, and I'm beginning to finally accept it."

"So if Isaiah was to ask me out on another date..."

"That would be fine with me. He held himself together very nicely last night. I was impressed. I expected him to piss his pants."

"Daddy!!"

"Whaaaat? I'm not like that anymore." He says chuckling. "Listen, as long as he treats you the way you're suppose to be treated, the kid is okay in my book."

Riley let's out a sigh of relief. "Thank you."

Colin stands up and gives her a forehead kiss. "You should get ready. I'm sure your mother and Kash are gonna wanna take you out and pamper you...and leave me with making sure everything is right with the party."
