Hours of preparation for this night were about to pay off. Layla fasten the ties of her satin dress and slipped into a pair of converse. Alice turned away from the mirror where she had been adjusting her curls. "Are you really going to were converse?" "Yup." Layla replied as she slicked her black hair into a low ponytail. With a grim look Alice turned back to the mirror to continue her priming. Layla laced up her shoes and plopped on her bed. In little than 6 seconds later Alice was coming after her eyes with a stick of mascara. Swatting it away Layla crossed her arms and exclaimed "Alice!" "Come on." Her best friend nagged. "Okay" Layla agreed in an agitated tone.Pushing the door open Layla climbed into the car. Alice fixed herself to the passengers seat and instantly began adjusting the radio from its previous channel. Putting pressure on the gas pedal beneath her Layla pulled out of the rocky driveway, and into the paved street.

Layla parked perfectly between the yellow lines in the school parking lot, but what else were you going to expect from a perfectionist. Trying to keep her composure Layla walked slowly to the front of the school. Unlike Alice who strutted up to the school full of confidence. Layla has always esteemed her friend who had enough pride for every kid in the town of Riverside.Walking into the gym felt like it had been completely transformed. Bright lights beamed on the faces of the two girl's peers. There he was. Tyler looked more radiant than every. "Damn." Layla gawked. "Go get em' tiger!" Alice said in a excited voice as she rushed off to find the rest of her friends.
Approaching Tyler the second time was almost as nerve racking as the first. Layla fiddled with the trim of her dress, for she couldn't keep still. "You look great" Layla managed to speak. "Thanks same goes for you." Tyler said , you could tell he was anxious. Layla could feel blush spreading her pasty face.
Endless hours of dancing, Layla's feet ached yet she could not stop. Pulling away from the crowd for a moment she skimmed the floor for Alice. It didn't take long since she stood out in every crowd. Grabbing a handful cloth from her friends dress Layla yanked her out from the herd of high schoolers. "Yes?" Alice questioned Layla could tell she wanted to get back to dancing."Tyler is amazing!" "So I have heard." "You didn't tell anyone I like him did you?" "Well..." "Alice!" Layla stormed off.
A boy ran off when Layla got near Tyler. "What was that?" Layla questioned, "nothing." Tyler replied in a uncomfortable tone. Suddenly a slow song started and to Layla surprise her hips had Tyler hands placed on them.
