Louise and Darcy showed up on time, Darcy jumping in Phil's arm excited to see him. They decided on having lunch at a nearby pizza place, and chatted for a while as they ate their food. After a while, Louise offered to have Phil stay in their guest room since he was alone in his flat. Feeling guilty and like a burden, Phil gratefully accepted her offer, knowing that he couldn't stay another night in the flat without breaking down again. They finished their meals- Phil covered the tab- and headed off their own ways as Phil went to his flat to pack his bags.
He didn't pay much mind to anything around him, rather he went straight to his room and started packing. He grabbed a handful of clothing and tossed them in his bag, stuffing them over top of his laptop charger and laptop. He grabbed his phone charger and hygienic necessities and shoved them in there, too. On his way out, almost as in after thought, Phil picked up his camera and added it to his bag as well, locking the door to the flat behind him and setting off for Louise's home.
While walking, he pulled out his phone and scrolled through his Twitter notifications. Eventually, he came across the photo of him and Tori. He liked the photo and re tweeted it with the quote "I think I met Smurfette today! :D". He disliked the photo- he looked exhausted and bags were under his eyes like crazy, but Tori looked nice. He just hoped no one thought much of it, maybe they would just be expecting Another Sleepless Night With Phil video, and he could live with that assumption.
Phil stuffed his phone back into his pocket as he came up to Louise's door. He knocked on the door and took a step back, waiting to be let in. Louise had told him just to walk in when he came, but he felt rude enough staying at her house and didn't want to intrude any more than he was. There was a scuffling noise and then the door flung open, Darcy grabbing Phil's hand and dragging him off to her bedroom immediately, Phil just barely getting the door closed in time. She was speaking quickly, as excited children her age do, and Phil caught a couple words along the line of "play" and "dolls".
"Darcy! Let Phil settle down, and if he wants to he can play dolls with you after you have your bath." Louise walked over and hugged Phil. Darcy dropped his hand reluctantly, looking up at him with a pouting face.
"Promise you'll play dolls with me after my bath?"
Phil nodded, smiling at her. "Promise, little sprinkle." He ruffled her hair and followed Louise to the guest bedroom.
"I put clean sheets on the bed, but if you need anymore I have extra duvet's. You know where the bathroom and kitchen is, just make yourself at home."
"Thanks, Louise. It really means a lot." Phil mumbled to her.
She smiled at him, showing her gap between her teeth and looking at him sweetly. Louise was always so kind, and her offer to let Phil stay for a while proved that she could see right through people. Phil was beyond appreciative to have such a fantastic friend. "Anytime, Phil. I'm going to go run Darcy's bath. If you need anything let me know, I just want her ready for bed by 7."
Phil thanked her again as she closed the door behind her. He set his bag down on the bed and plopped down next to it, opening the zipper and taking out the things he packed. Half of it he didn't even remember grabbing. He set out a bunch of clothes and refolded them so they wouldn't be as wrinkled, then set his laptop and chargers next to the bed. He left everything else in the bag and set that on the floor out of they way. As he was placing his clothes on top of the dresser on the far side of the room, his phone went off. He almost choose to ignore it, thinking it was a twitter notification, when he realized it was his text notification. Heart skipping in his chest, Phil jumped back on the bed and unlocked his phone.
Alisa feel back out. You up to anything interesting?
Phils heart became light again. He was on an emotional roller coaster, a constant fight among angst, numbness and bliss. It was tiring, and it hadn't even been a full day since Dan left. Maybe it would get better. Hopefully it would get better. It was reasonable that the first initial couple of days would make him a wreck... wasn't it?
