Samuel Chapter Thirteen
The door opened and Mason rushed in shaking. Everyone looked at him as he crumpled to the ground in tears. Gabri got up and walked to him.
"M?" She said softly. He looked at her, still sobbing. She knelt beside him and he hugged her tight crying into her shoulder.
"M," She said again. "Where's Reyna?" Mason shook his head and cried harder into Gabri's curly brown hair. Gabri looked up and our eyes met, hers were filled with terror.
Snow was talking to Elias behind Gabri, she looked scared. She was scared, I had heard her say it earlier.
"Elias... What do you think happened to her?" Snow whispered to Elias. He just shrugged and looked at Gabri and Mason. Ryan looked down at Snow then over to Ashley.
"Ash," Ryan said. Ashley looked up and at her brother.
"Hmm?" She asked
"What's your number?" Ryan asked, rubbing his wrist. He looked scare. It was odd, and somewhat scary, to see such a big, scary guy look so scared.
"Eight," Ashley said, holding her wrist up. Everyone turned to look at Ryan as he started crying. Great, so we have two guys crying. What the hell?
"What's wrong?" a girl named Zoe asked. Snow looked at Ryan like he was going to explode. Elias held onto Snow's arm. Is there something going on between those two?
"I'm number eight too..." Ryan said, crying again. Mason was still in Gabri's arm. Tobias got up and walked to the door.
"I can't take this," He said looking at the door. He grabbed the metal bar that I'm guessing was the handle and pulled on it. The door gave no signs of movement so everyone lost interest quickly.
"Tobi... It's not going to work baby... Just come sit back down." Zoe said, looking at him. They're dating?
Tobias sighed and walked back over then sat in his spot next to her. "What's your number?" He asked her after kissing her.
"Four," She said. "Yours?" He looked somewhat relieved.
"Six. Maybe we won't have to fight each other." Tobias said, pulling Zoe close by the waist.
"Maybe..." Zoe said looking at her hands. "But that means I'll have to fight someone else..."
"Sam?" My brother Cameron said. I looked at him.
"What Cam?"
"What's your number?" He held up his wrist. It was a red number. I couldn't tell from across the room. Well we're obviously on different teams. Shit.
"Six. Yours?" He exhaled, probably in relief. Just because we're different numbers doesn't mean anything.
"Two. Elias what's yours?" Cam turned to look at Elias. He flipped his wrist over still looking at Snow as she slept against his shoulder.
"One. Justin what's yours?"
Justin shrugged and looked at the ground in between his feet. "It doesn't matter," He said glumly. Maddy looked at him.
"It does a little, Justin." Maddy mumbled. Justin looked at her his eyes shiny.
"Why does it Mads? Why does it matter. We're all going to die anyway. No one has no way of knowing where we are. None of us have phones. And if we did I'm sure there's be no service here." Justin snapped, his voice cracking.
"Justin.. We aren't going to die..." Maddy said, narrowing her eyes at him. "And don't snap at me!"
"Reyna already died, Mads! I'm sure we're all going to too!"
"Calm down both of you! That's enough! Fighting isn't going to do shit but put everyone in a bad mood!" Brook shouted, glaring at everyone. There was a small whimper and I turned to look at a girl named Bria crying a few feet away from me.
"I think we all need some sleep..." I said sighing.
