Chapter 21-Pain

I stroll through the hallways with Michael, trying to get my damn water to break. "Are you ready to be a parent?" Michael asks. I shrug. "I just wasn't expecting it to be this soon, but I'm gonna love the kid nevertheless." He nods. "I'm glad my family is okay with it." I sigh. "I just wish I had some family we could rely on." He frowns, giving me a kiss on the cheek. "Babe, don't worry about it. We have each other, and that's all a family needs." A smile breaks across my face, and I continue to walk. Suddenly, I scream out in pain. I look down at the now wet floor. "Get me to a damn room!" I scream at a panicking Michael. He quickly flags down a nurse and they take me into a room.

I squeeze Michael's hand, knowing it'll probably be broke by the end of this. "Push." The doctor commands. I Yelp as I give a big push. It takes what seems like hours. "Okay Ms. Joy, one more should do." The doctor says. My face is bloodstained, and I'm ready for this little bastard to come out. Michael rubs my hand with his free hand. "C'mon babe, one last push." I follow his orders, and scream out in pain. All of a sudden, I hear crying. I smile a little. "It's a baby girl, and by the looks, she's only 3 weeks early, so she's probably healthy enough to bring home." The doctor smiles and hands Michael a pair of scissors. He looks at them wide eyed, and takes them. I close my eyes as he cuts the cord, and the nurse cleans off the baby. She takes her into the nursery for shots and examination. I look over at Michael. He smiles, kissing my head. "She's beautiful..just like you." I blush. "Are you happy it's a girl?" He nods. "I was kinda hoping it would be." I giggle. "We're gonna make kickass parents." He chuckles. "We sure as hell are. What's her name?" I shrug. "You say a name and I'll say one." "December." He smiles. "Rain." I add. "December Rain it is. Can't get more gothic than that." He chuckles. The nurse comes back and hands me the baby. I smile as December squirms around.

Michael's dad and step mom arrive, and so do the Goths. They all obsess over little December. I can even tell Pete has a soft side for her. When it was his turn to hold her, his fatherly instinct came out, and it may be better than Michael's. I think I've found the Godfather! All of a sudden, Kyle and Kenny burst into the room. "Guys! We have amazing news!" "Was it really worth interrupting this amazing moment?" Henrietta rolls her eyes, taking a drag on her pipe. "Hey, don't smoke in front of December!" Michael retorts. "Since when have you been against smoking?" Firkle asks, puzzled. Michael sighs. "Look, I'm a family man now. It's time for me to straighten up my life." He then turns to Kyle and Kenny. "Now, what's the news?" Kyle smiles wide. "We got fatass to apologize! The whole Emo bullshit is over!" I smile wide. It's finally over. I can finally focus on my daughter, my boyfriend, my new family.

My thoughts are interrupted by a small knock on the door. Kyle opens it, and Stan slowly steps in, making the room fall silent. Michael looks at me, and I give him a "hold up" look. "H-hey. I just wanted to meet the baby" Stan says. I carefully hand December over to him. "You better not hurt her." Michael glares. Stan smiles wide, tickling her. "No worries." He pulls out a small bear and gives it to her. He smiles and hands her and the bear to me. He then turns to shake Michael's hand. Michael hesitates, then returns the hand shake. "I apologize for all my trouble. You're gonna make a great father man." Michael smiles. "Thanks, Stan. I guess you're not the asshole I thought you were." They both chuckle, and the room fills with conversation.

I smile down at little December. I can't wait to go home and officially start my family, without all the Emo BS getting in the way. The war is over, everyone is friends again, and I can already tell the family life is going to be amazing.
