It's about 10 PM, and everyone is tired. Pete blew through his last pack of cigarettes. Henrietta gets a call. She answers and starts screaming. It's obviously her mom. "Ugh my fucking mom! I have to go guys." We wave as she heads through the gate. Pete sighs. "I'm out of cigs, peace!" He walks out. Firkle puts out his last cigarette and leaves without a goodbye. I look at Michael, who looks confused. "Shouldn't you be home? Your aunt seems strict." I bite my lip and look down at my shoes. "About that..." He frowns and sits on the steps, motioning for me to sit beside him. I take a seat and sigh. "I got kicked out..She wants me to be this perfect child I'm not and hates everything about me." He frowns and looks down. "Damn..that's shit. How could she not like you I mean you're-" He hesitates. "Um..you're pretty cool." I blush a little. "Thanks Michael." He smiles a bit and gets up. "Look, I'll sneak you into my place. You can stay there for a bit." He holds out a hand. I grab it and he pulls me up. We walk down a dark street, past the elementary school, and finally arrive at his house. "We've got to be quiet." He warns. He gently opens the door and tiptoes in. He looks around and let's out a deep breath. "They're asleep. Come on." He whispers. We creep up the stairs and into his room. Right as he closes he door, an Asian woman calls his name. "Michael! Open this door right now!" His eyes widen. I gulp and look around, finding an open closet door. I dive in and close it. I sit in total darkness listening to him and the woman's conversation. After lots of arguing and about two minutes, the door slams and I hear Michael's footsteps. He opens the door and laughs. "You can come out now." I smile and get up. "Wow, that's the first time I heard a goth laugh!" I joke. He seriously acts different when he's not with the others. He puts his hands behind his back and taps his foot nervously. "Soo.." "Sooooo..." I repeat. "Sorry it's just..I've never had a chick over. I just figured well..love didn't work out for my mom and dad, so why should it for me?" I frown. "Look, this might be the least gothic thing you'll ever hear from me but Michael you're amazing. You underestimate yourself so much. If only you could see what I see.." I gulp and look down. I didn't mean for that to slip. I look up, and his lips crash against mine. I run my hands under his jacket and wrap my arms around him, kissing back. He pulls away and smiles. "Damn, I've never felt so..so happy." I smile. "Michael I..I think I'm in love with you." He blushes. "Me too, Elizabeth." I blush. "You called me by my real name, how sweet. He chuckles. "Look, let's keep it on the down low for a while. I don't think the goths would like to see us..well..not goths." I nod. "I totally understand." He smiles and takes off his jacket and his pants, leaving him in boxers and an undershirt. I smile and climb in the bed beside him, cuddling up to him. "So I guess this means?" I ask. He smiles and kisses the back of my neck. "We're a thing."
