Broken Promises (Starco)

Part 5

Star's POV 

Ugh! I was trying to eat my lunch with Alfonzo, Ferguson and Marco but I got put off by Marco staring at Jackie all googly eyed. Seriously what does he see in her? Her platinum blonde waves? Her aqua green eyes? Her ability to ride a skateboard like a boss? I sighed, I'd never be good enough for Marco. "Jackie's so perfect," he said gazing at her drooling. I puked up in my head. Then I slammed my fist on the table. "I've had enough! You like Jackie well then go get her tiger!" Agh! What did I just say?! My heart says I love him but my stupid mouth tells him to ask out another girl! 

Marco's POV

"I've had enough! You like Jackie well go get her tiger!" Star said to me. She was right. I took a deep breath, I was finally gonna do it! After all these years I was going to ask out Jackie Lynn Thomas! I got up. "You're right Star," I said walking to Jackie's table. Then I realised something,"Wait, I have no experience with girls!" Then someone texted me, it was Mabel.

Mabel Pines ;) I heard you have girl problems! 

Marco How did you know? 

Mabel Pines ;) I never reveal my secrets 

Marco Ok... So wut should I do? 

Mabel Pines ;) I'll tell u after school

Marco Are u sure u know wut ur doing? 

Mabel Pines ;) Yh I got Soos a girlfriend so you'll be easy 

Marco Ok see u 

Mabel Pines ;) Bye :) 

She's a weird kid, but you gotta love her. "Guys it's okay Mabel's got a plan," I said. Alfonzo and Ferguson seemed happy but Star kept on looking down at the floor and shuffling her feet. "Hey are you okay Star?" 

"I'm fine okay!" She snapped at me. Star had never been like that before. I thought since Mabel talked her she would be okay. The bell rang, I'd have to worry about Star later because we have a biology test now! 

Star's POV

What have I done? I'm going to lose Marco and I have no one to blame but myself. I flopped onto the sofa. I guess it's time to move on. Marco walked in, his messy brown hair stuck up in all places, but in a cute way. I looked into his deep chocolate brown eyes and I thought how could I let him go? "Star, is Mabel here yet?" He asked nervously. I chuckled and got up. "She'll be here soon don't worry," I said putting my arm around him. It might be the last time I get to do that before he's with Jackie. Then the doorbell rung. Marco hastily opened the door. "Heyo it's the mystery twins!" Mabel said as the twins entered the house. Mabel was wearing a pink sweater with red hearts all over it and on Dipper's hat someone had stuck a pink paper heart over the pine tree. "So someone's in need of Dr Mabel Cupid! Accompanied byyyy..." She said nudging Dipper. "Love arrow Dipper!" He said reluctantly. I tried to hold my laugh back. "Aaaannd," she said. Alfonzo and Ferguson appeared in pink jumpsuits,"The two love-a-teers!" They both said in unison. Then Mabel asked Marco,"So who's the lucky lady?"

"Jackie Lynn Thomas," Marco replied dreamily. Mabel looked at me confused,"But-I-well, Jackie's gonna be attacked by a love tornado!" I think she was expecting him to say me. Yeah I wish that as well, but that will never happen. "Love-a-teers take the patient to the love ward!" Mabel ordered. They looked at her confused. "The love ward's Marco's room," Mabel told them.

"Ohhhhh!" They all said and escorted Marco upstairs. Mabel came and put her hand on my shoulder.

"You okay with this Star?" She asked and all the Mabel weirdness had disappeared. I sighed and forced a smile,"Yeah I'm fine." Mabel wasn't too sure but in the end she said,"okay but if you need anything tell me okay?" I nodded. Then Mabel said, "Love awaits me," and a gust of wind blew, making it more dramatic. I looked around, "Where did the that come from?"

5 hours later

"He is finito!" Mabel said,"You may enter Star." I walked into the room not knowing what to expect. I saw Marco. Hid messy brown hair was all combed back and he was wearing a smart suit; in the pocket was a red rose. Dipper was on his phone not giving a damn and Alfonzo and Ferguson were fussing with Marco's hair. "Nice work Mabel!" I said casually. But what I was thinking is 'Dang! He looks frickin' hot!' Mabel nodded,"I know, I know." I sat down trying hard not to stare at Marco.

"So what now?" I asked glancing at Marco then quickly at my nails. Mabel looked at Dipper, Alfonzo and Ferguson, they all nodded. "So here's the plan...."

Marco's POV

I walked into school feeling pretty confident, Mabel gave me a pep talk the night before. Some people stared at me, probably because I ditched my usual red hoodie today and was wearing a suit and my hair was combed back. I marched straight up to Jackie's locker where she was talking to Star, all part of the plan. Jackie saw me and laughed a bit, "Like the new look Diaz!" She said. She liked my look, so far so good. "Oh this? This is just my casual clothes," I said leaning on the lockers, trying to be all cool. She laughed again, while she wasn't looking I slipped a note into her locker. It said:

Meet me outside school at 4

From someone who cares a lot about you

Star saw and I winked at her, she winked back. "It was fun talking to you Jackie but I gotta go, bye!" Star said quickly. We both started walking in separate directions. She made sure Jackie wasn't looking and ran to me. "Nice-job-Marco," she said between breaths. I took out my walkie talkie, which Mabel insisted we use, and said,"This is Octowimp calling in to Love Team, step 1 is complete, I repeat step 1 is complete." It had barely been 2 seconds when I got a reply. "This is Dr Cupid to Octowimp, that's great! Report to the lunch hall for step 2," Mabel said. Me and Star half walked, half ran to the lunch hall. Mabel, Dipper, Alfonzo and Ferguson were waiting for me. Mabel greeted us with a big, cheesy grin, "So how'd it go?" she asked. 

"It was great! Now to move onto step 2," I replied. As we discussed strategies I noticed Star seemed pretty quiet. "Are you okay?" I asked her. She nodded.

"Yeah I'm fine; I'm just really loving this apple juice, it's delicious!" she said taking a sip. I wasn't really convinced but I had bigger fish to fry...

Star's POV

I can't believe it! I'm helping my crush get a girlfriend! Not like he'd like me anyway. I guess it's time to forget about Marco and move on. We're better off as friends. It hurts but that's reality for you(!) Mabel took out a heart shaped box of chocolates and a bunch of roses. she handed them to Marco,"Give these to Jackie and she can't say no!" Marco opened them.

"Uhhhh they're melted," he said showing us a clumpy brown mess. Mabel shrugged.

"Meh," She said giving him a straw.

2 hours later

We hid behind a bush. It was 3:55 and we were waiting for Jackie behind a bush. Marco sat on the steps of the school. "Love team I am in position for step 2," he said.

"Why do we have to go by these stupid codenames again?" asked Dipper.

"Because it makes it more cool Love Arrow Dipper," Mabel replied. Dipper opened his mouth to say something but then Jackie appeared.

Dun, dun, dunnnn! Cliffhanger. What do you think's  gonna happen next? Sorry I took a long time to update but now it's the holidays so I'll try to update next week.
