"What is this all about?"

You heard a long sigh of exhaustion coming out from the man across you.

"I'm sorry for the way I acted last night, [Name]-chan," he smiled.

What?

At first, you were very confused as to why he was apologizing. As far as you can remember, you were the one at fault last night. So why was he acting so sincere?

Is it because kindness really runs in Sasaki's blood? Or..

Then it hit you.

"What do you want from me?" You raised an eyebrow, assuming that he probably came here to try and gather  information from you again.

He gulped and you watch him tense in his position. "Actually, I.."

"I need some details that only you can give me,"

Knew it.

"No, it's not related to Aogiri or something!" He exclaimed, noticing the change of your aura. "It's a question a-about m-me.."

You immediately knew what this is all about. Your brow raised as you watch him struggle to find the right words to say.

"It's just.. I want to know who I really was," he muttered, eyes fixed on the floor. "And you're the only person that can provide me this information."

You didn't respond to his statement, instead you kept on staring at him; deciding whether or not you should give him what he wanted.

But you chose not to. You know better.

"I'm sorry but you'd have to find it out on your own," you said, avoiding eye contact. "Your past will only destroy you, Sasaki."

You sighed, "And I don't want that to happen."

You were about to turn away when you suddenly heard a small sob. Then your eyes widened--he is crying. You felt your heart break at the sight; tears flowing down from his beautiful grey eyes.

He was looking at the ground, trying his hardest to choke back his sobs,

"K-Ken," you mumbled. You badly wanted to comfort him, embrace him and feel his warmth again; but the glass that separates you tells you that you can't, you couldn't.

I'm sorry.

"T-The moment I woke up in that room, all I ever knew about myself is that I was number 240." He muttered, eyes still fixed on the ground. "Then I was given a name. I was called Sasaki Haise. And do you know who gave me that name?"

You immediately shifted your gaze when his eyes met yours.

"I did," he forced a smile though his eyes show only loneliness. "I named myself because I don't have any friends to tell me who I really am."

"But I was grateful that I didn't have any. Assuming to the situation I was in, I knew that my past will just make everything worse. I decided to cling unto what was given to me and be happy. I lived my life with lies that I, myself, created."

"But right now, I'm already prepared. I want to free myself from all those lies. I want to know who I really am." Sasaki frowned, "And I want you to help me, [Name]-chan,"

"So please tell me," he begged.

"Who is Kaneki Ken?"
