Don't expect a happy ending.

Sasaki Haise. That man was surely the definition of the word beautiful. Inside and out, he was surely one of the most beautiful creature you would ever lay eyes on.

He was perfect. Kind, humble, gentle, timid. He's probably the nicest person you would ever meet. You could say for sure that he deserves the whole world, but a world as cruel as this does not deserve someone like Haise.

That's for sure.

But your eyes went wide as you watch this image of Sasaki Haise shattering infront of you and all you could do was watch, and do nothing.

No..

You stare blankly to his gray ones. His lips were formed into a smile that you could almost call so devious. He looked at you and his face held no expression except pity.

"Pleased to finally see you again, [Name]." He stated, cracking another finger from his hand.

You immediately saw through this action but tried your very best to keep your cool as the words he said slowly processed in your mind.

That's when you realize the meaning behind it.

"You're back." You said sternly, eyes fixed on his.

"Yes, I am." He smiled, A smile that you could easily tell if fake or not. "I was actually on a mission. My former squad and I was tasked to capture the Gourmet."

Your eyes went wide for a second, but you immediately regained your composure as the thought of Tsukiyama Shuu getting captured was almost, almost impossible.

That bastard has his ways.

"Unfortunately, I let personal matters in, he escaped and we failed to capture him." He continued, his devious smile never faltering. "As you predicted."

You did not respond and instead, you sat still and watched as he wait for you to speak.

I can't take this any longer.

"Why are you doing this?!" You snapped.  You tried your very best to control the tears that were threatening to fall from your eyes.

He was taken aback by your sudden outburst. But he immediately regained his composure. "What are you trying to say?"

He brushed back a few strands of his fringe as it falls flat on his forehead. You watched him do so, processing the fact that not only his personality changed, but also his physical appearance.

You studied his face as he stare intensely back at yours. He definitely did changed so much. He disappeared for a week and came back like this, came back so different.

"Kaneki Ken," You stated, "You're back, aren't you?"

"Isn't this what you've always wanted?" He asked, frowning. "My memories are back, [Name]."

"Aren't you happy that I finally remember who you are?"

He looked at you with large gray eyes. And you could clearly see hurt and devastation in his face. His eyes filled with sadness and loneliness as it stares back at your [e/c] ones.

You let your tears fall down and examined how much Kaneki Ken, your Kaneki Ken has changed into this person standing right infront of you.

You slumped back to your seat and you did not dare say a word. You cried silently but not to the point of sobbing.

After silence filled the room. Sasaki decided to leave, knowing that you will probably need some time and space to let everything sink in.

"I would really love to stay and accompany you, but I still got a lot to do." He coldly stated. "I'm still lost, [Name]. And I want to find myself."

"So I could protect everyone."

He gave you one last glance before standing up. But before he could fully turn his back on you, words you did not expect sufdenly came out from your mouth in a quiet mutter.

"Would you please not go?"

He came for a stop and he returned his gaze on you.

"I'm sorry," he said, a sad smile playing on his lips. "But as I said before,"

"I'm done with not being able to do anything."
