Mingus

(Ashley's POV)

After telling Norman about the girl's and Michael, Norman took the folder in his hand and took mine when we stood to leave. He took the keys from me since he was now sober enough to drive.

"Are you not going to let me drive?" I asked.

"Nope...I'm sober now." Norman said as I got in on the passenger side and watched him start the jeep.

"I wonder how Mingus is going to take this?" I asked.

"He will be shocked for one seeing you here and he will be scared but excited about the baby." Norman said.

"That's to be expected." I said as we pulled out of the coffee house and headed home.

It took maybe 10 minutes to get there. I was nervous when I seen the lights still on in the house letting me know Mingus was still us waiting on his Dad to get home. When he turned off the Jeep and got out he came around and opened my door and helped me out as if I needed it.

"Are you ready for this?" Norman asked.

"Not really." I said. "But I've missed him and you both." I added as we headed to the door, Norman unlocked the door and we stepped in.

"Wait right here." Norman said as I nodded. "MINGUS, I'm home." He yelled I guess he was upstairs in his room playing his video game.

"I heard two doors shut....did Missy come home with you?" Mingus asked as he came downstairs.

"Nope." Norman said stepping to the side so Mingus could see me.When Mingus seen me he smiled for a minute and ran to me and hugged me while crying.

"Momma!" Mingus cried.

"Hi baby." I said as buried his face into my shoulder.

"Please tell me your staying." Mingus begged as I looked at Norman while running my hand through Mingus's now shoulder length blond curls.

"We need to have a talk with you." Norman said as Mingus looked at me then looked at his father.

"NO!....no...I will not allow it." Mingus yelled.

"Wont allow what?" I asked.

"You two getting a divorce." Mingus cried.

"We're not getting a divorce." I said. "But we do need to have a talk with you so take a seat." I added.

"About what?" Mingus asked sitting down on the couch.

"Do you want me to tell him or do you?" I asked looking at Norman.

"Show him." Norman said.

"Show me what?" Mingus asked as I took out my wallet and pulled out Michael's ultra sound picture and handed it to him. He went wide-eyed for a moment then looked at me and Norman and smiled, having me think this was going to be easier than I thought it would be. "So I'm having a baby brother?" Mingus continued to ask.

"No....look at the top of the photo....it doesn't say my name." I said as he looked at the photo again.

"He's yours." Norman said as Mingus looked at him with tears in his eyes.

"Where is she?" Mingus asked. "Where is Roxie?" He added.

"She's back in NC with Mason." I said.

"Then we need to go home or bring them here." Mingus said standing up.

"That's easier said than done....she doesn't know I told you." I said.

"Why didn't you two come home after knowing she was pregnant?" Mingus asked.
