chapter 5

That same night.
My head pain came back. This time I kicked of my sheets and got of my bed.

I unbraided my hair and took off my pyjama shirt.

Wearing only a black sports bra and my black pj pants, I stood in front of my fan.

The head pain wasn't as bad but my nightmares left me sweaty.

A cold wind blew through my window which I know I left shut. I turned around to see a light in my curtains.

I breathed. I felt cold. I was scared surprisingly. I just wanted to turn invisible.

The light disappeared but I felt a presence.

"Halsey I know your here."
The voice said, I opened my closed eyes and saw the man that was in the book.

I lost all fears and tackled him.

"Stop are you crazy stop it right now."

I looked up and saw myself in the mirror in my closet door.

My eyes lit blue and my hair was a navy colour. Did I always look like this when I attack people?

I got off the stranger. He got up slowly. some part of me didn't want to fight him because I felt

like I knew him.

"Hello Halsey." he said with a smile.

"Who are you?" I asked stepping back.

"I'm pretty sure I showed you when I came in earlier."

"That was you?!"

"yes dear sorry if I scared you."

"You didn't. you caused pain." I said picking up my book. "Stanley."

"Apart from that dear...i'm your father."

I looked at him eyes wide. I knew he wasn't lying. My powers allow me to know basically everything.

Truth, lies, secrets, everyone's past....except mine.

"Why did you send me here?"

"You were in danger."

"Of what? Do you know what I've done while growing up. How many people I've hurt and...."

"The lady who abandoned you in the park. I see everything Halsey."

"...you didn't answer my question."

"Yes well...your mother and I got married had you blah blah blah. I wanted extra life...more for adventures for my own selfish adventures." He pointed to my book.
"The only way I could get this was by sacrificing you to them I refused, they hunted me down, found us....I only had so much time to get away and make a portal to keep you safe."

".....explain my powers...."

"Well you were christened in a lodge. Basically they gave them to you....or should I say they control you."

"What about the color changes of my hair and eyes?"

"They control you with your emotions each color change means you have a different demon...the one that likes blood.....is even more dangerous than the others."

"...murder."

"Correct."

"Can't I talk to them."

"You can try....I only have a little time left...I need you to follow the map in that book."

"Why?"

"You'll find the second book. It'll teach you how to use your powers. It's inside a treasure chest filled with gold...my gift to you my beautiful daughter."

He touched my cheek and just like that....gone.

I climbed in my bed again and thought about what just happened. After that I just closed my eyes and went back to sleep.
