As Ben looked in the mirror, he finally saw just how different he looked from seven years ago. He was now five ft three inches. His green eyes still dim, while his dark brown hair was just a tangled mess. That fell down upon his face. his cheekbones were angular and hard, determined to show bones. No matter how much he ate his body stayed the same. Though he was well fed, his face always looked like he was becoming a skeleton. His body made him look, thin. Too thin he always thought.

He had bags under his eyes, and his skin was pale. He sometimes wonder if he had become a vampire over the years. Though he had finally learned to read and write he decided not to tell his mom about the nightmares though. They never left him, they only got longer.

"Ben! Hurry up your going to be late for school!" His mother screamed, from downstairs at the door. He still couldn't reply. He combed his hair a bit, though that only helped to untangle his messy hair a bit, then he walked down stairs. As he looked at the wall, he could see his finger prints from when he was younger and would always hold on the wall.

He quickly walked downstairs without bother to check the time, his mom was ready now. why should he check?

The drive to school only took 10 minutes, though he was worried he didn't show it. His mom decided he would go to a regular school. Not some special school, because he wasn't like them. So she told him.

"Be safe." she whispered into his ears and kissed him on the cheek. He quickly typed into his speech app, on his iPhone.

love you. The voice came out as, then he turned away and walked to school. He quickly ran over the name one more time. Bolton High School it read. Finding his way around proved easier than he thought, all he had to do was follow the large group of crowd since it was the first day everyone was going to the same place. After a few minutes of following the group, he arrived at the gym. where everyone was seated on the bleachers.

As he took out a his book to begin writing he noticed he wasn't wearing his bracelet that his mom had given him. Sighing, he could imagine his mom when she finds out how furious she would be, but then again its her fault she always told him to make sure he had it on after every shower. Today however, she was in such a hush she forgot. Besides whats the worst that could happen if he didn't have on a bracelet.

"Sup?" came an anonymous voice from behind him. Quickly typing into his voice.

Same as everyone else, bored.  Ben replied, in his usual Gothic tone that normally made everyone distant themselves from him.

"Hmm, cant talk? that sucks always having to type your answers into a phone. Oh well, the names' Moon. Xavier Moon."

Cool, well its not that bad, i mean you get used to it eventually after not being able to talk your entire life. people always looking at you differently. Everyone avoiding you. After a while you get used to it and prefer it that way. I'm Ben, Ben Fisher. Ben replied, however he only had one voice on his app, and it was a calm one. so Xavier probably didn't hear the unpleasantness in it which if he had heard would've probably made him quit talking but for whatever reason he didn't.

"Nice name dude, being called moon is fun and all, but i think i would prefer fisher cuz then i could be all like, I'm a fisherman because my name is fisher. Get it?" Xavier said, as he laughed at his own joke. Noticing he wasn't going to quit talking he decided to entertain this troubled boy.

Ha-ha, that's priceless. Definitely writing it down.

"Good." X said all jokingess in his voice vanished. "Tell me something Fisher, who are you really? and why haven't i heard of you? or sensed your presence?"He said all this as he put an arm around Ben as if they were the best of friends.

i'm Ben... Ben fisher i just told you that. And why would you have heard of me? As i told you before im used to being ignored and an outcast never had any friends... Why cant i feel your hands??

Ben typed frantically as he moved away from the boy.

"Ben the answer to that is simple... I'm a ghost. You can see me, no one else. So this is how i know that you have been lying to me. Where were you born Ben? and why didn't you ask permission before you came here?"

Listen i dont know what your talking about, but i was born here and Ive been here my entire life. You however are starting to creep me out and I'm leaving.

Ben said and started moving away from X to find a better seat, but as he looked around X had his hand through a girls chest, and she didn't even seem to notice. She just kept talking to her friend. Ben instantly decided he couldn't take school anymore.

mom, pick me up. School not working out. He send a quick text and jogged out of the gym, looking behind him he thought he would see X but he had completely vanished. after 15 minutes of waiting nothing happened, his mom hadn't even responded to his text.

MOM! Where are you?  He had never put anything to symbolize yelling at his mom before but he thought this was a bit too important for her not to respond. She still didn't arrive. More panicking. So he did the next best thing he sprinted home, making 45 minutes of running seem like nothing. Actually that was the longest he had ever ran.

As he arrived home, he went inside throwing open the door, and thats when he saw it.
