Lesley

Her windows were up as the cool breeze caressed her skin. Her hair was in twists gathered on top of her head and she had on a pair of shorts and an old t-shirt. Lesley sat criss-cross on her white duvet with her back rested on the cushioned headboard.

The curtains that covered her windows lightly flowed to the ground and the lamp on her nightstand set a soft glow that illuminated the room. The space smelled like vanilla from the Yankee candle that lay on her dresser.

She pushed her black rimmed glasses up the bridge of her nose as she flipped a page of the perks of being a wallflower. The book took some getting used to but the more she read, the more she fell in love.

Charlie, she found it funny how the main character of the book, an awkward freshman, had the same name as the cute new guy at school.

Charlie.

A smile fell on her lips as she looked up from her book. He was so cute, and so out of her league; but a girl could still dream.

Oh, his voice. She had newly noticed the slightest accent that was tuned in his voice. He was from Spain. Spain!

She thought back to lunch and how much she smiled. And how cool he was. He was a laid back type of guy, that was something she noticed quickly, but he had a mien of confidence too.

It was nice to have someone to sit with at lunch, someone to share her thoughts with, and someone to smile with. She didn't really have friends per say, but the occasional people shed say hi to in the hallways or ask to borrow a pencil from.

She slumped further in her bed wiping the grogginess from her eyes making her glasses touch the top of her forehead. The yawn that escaped her lips finalized it was lights out for her.

Her glasses found its way to the nightstand beside her, and so did the book. She found herself burrowed in the soft comforter that hugged her sleepy form.

The satin case that covered her pillow felt cool on the side of her face and her freshly shaved legs felt smooth against the sheets.

Her thoughts slowed down and all she could think about was the next day, and her new seat partner on the bus.
~~
The AC was on on the bus today, and even with it on she felt like she was dying.

'How could it go from raining to 95 degrees' she thought.

Lesley was definitely questioning her choice of clothing as she looked down at her long sleeved striped tee. She fanned herself with her manicured hands as much as she could wanting nothing more than an ice cold cup of water.

She heard the bus doors open and she sat up on her knees searching for a certain someone. Once she spotted a head full of brown locks and emerald green eyes she sat on her bottom fixing her hair. The style she wore was a twist out parted to the side. Her thick hair reached her shoulder blades.

Lesley pulled out The Perks of Being A Wallflower in attempt to look as natural as possible.

Charlie soon appeared beside her but she still kept her eyes on the pages of the book.

As he sat down she smiled at the heavenly scent of his cologne that filled the air. Lesley found herself taking another breath reveling in the smell.

A few minutes passed and her hand flipped a page of the book in her hands. She felt the heat of Charlie's skin and his eyes too.

She tried her best to hide a smile that fought its way on her face. Her hand brought its way up to the crisp white sheet flipping it.

Lesley felt his arm touch her's and definitely in that moment regretted wearing a shirt that covered that much skin.
