ScarlettI remembered everything. It came to me in fragments and pieces but I remembered.
My palm was still twitching as I stood there getting ready to strike again.
One more offensive word Jonnathan. It's your call.
He didn't do anything. Instead he burst out in laughter. His eyes were glassy and he looked disoriented.
I was confused. And furious. I didn't know what I was more. I needed to be alone. The one person that I had trusted and confided in was showing his inability to protect me. I was terrified by his signs of weakness.
You really think he cares about you, don't you? Oh Scarlett, you're so naive. You little freak.
Cindy's words echoed through my ears piercing my heart in realization.
"Get out."
He raised his eyebrows. "You're throwing me out? Of my own home?"
"Get out!" I screamed at the top of my lungs, tears threatening to come to the surface again.
But he didn't leave. Instead he took a few steps forward. The look on his face gave me the chills.
"Jonnathan, stop it! You're creeping me out and I swear I will hit you again, harder this time if I need to."
He took a few more steps forward and I flinched as he reached out and carefully took his phone out of my hand. I didn't realize that I still had it.
He shook his head as he studied me intensely.
"I still love you Scarlett." His lips pulled up into a smile.
I stared at him aghast. "Fuck you, Jonnathan. You love your fame and money, that's all."
"How could you say that Scarlett? Haven't I always been there for you when you needed me the most? I may be a cold hearted asshole that doesn't give two shits about anyone, but I care about you. I've always cared about you."
"I know you too well Jonnathan, you don't fool me so stop wasting your breath." "And I swear I will slap that grin right off of your face if you take another step forward."
The doorbell rang and his smile faded. "He's here, you should get dressed."
"Who's here?" I wasn't sure I really wanted to know, I felt tired and just wanted to go to sleep.
"Casper."
My blood froze and I felt a twist in my stomach.
"You need to pack up your things, he hates waiting."
"Where am I going Jonnathan? Why am I packing? Are we moving?"
"We're not moving, you're moving."
"You're kicking me out?"
"Scarlett wake up! You signed a contract that claims all rights to him, which means you need to be living under his conditions. Did you even read the Goddamn paper?!"
"How can I remember reading it when I don't even remember signing it in the first place!" More images of last night flashed in front of me and I gasped.
What the hell had I been thinking?
Clearly I hadn't been thinking at all.
You were too busy doing something else.
Ugh!
I couldn't take it anymore. I needed to be left alone. I needed to clear my thoughts and figure out what I was going to do next. The last thing I needed right now was to be in front of Casper.
