Hayley's leg was still immobile, even six months later. And Derek hadn't let her side either, she'd refused to try any psychical therapy because her leg hurt, she still got pains. Her leg should work, she just refused to try. But today was different. Hayley did what she did everyday, wake up, eat, get medication, and wait for Derek to come from his apartment.
It was becoming a bad habit and Derek saw it already, so he needed to change that. He entered her hospital room, a smile grew on her face when she saw him. "Morning." He says kissing her forehead.
"Morning." she answered.
"So are you ready?" Derek asks.
"For what?" Hayley questions and Derek gives her a look, "No, please I don't want to." she begs, tears begin falling down her cheeks. "Hayley you'll never get better if you don't go, do you wanna dance again?" he asked.
"Yes, more than anything." she replied.
"Then you need to go to psychical therapy." Derek stated. Hayley dissolves into more tears, thinking about it for a minutes, her eyes trained on her paralyzed leg. "Ok." she says. Derek smiles at her and grabs the wheelchair that been in her room for three months now. He helped her into it, wheeling her out the room, he couldn't believe that she finally agreed.
Nurses watched with smiles on their faces, they'd watched so much sadness come from the shooting, it was time for some improvement. Derek took her to physical therapy and her therapist was waiting. They instantly began talking about possible treatments, and it was decided for a two hour training session each day. Derek promised to be there everyday, no matter what.
And they began that very moment, the therapist began with trying to get the leg to move. "Here you're gonna need to help her up." the therapist explains and Derek helps Hayley stands, her left leg was moving ok, but stumbled as soon as her right touched the ground. Tears built in her eyes as she tried to stand on it.
"Don't worry, I got you." Derek promises her.
