Ch. 6

Desires pov.

I had never felt so loved by anyone. I have brothers.. four awesome ninja brothers.. "Dez we're gonna go on patrol, but you need to stay here. with that rash we dont need it getting any worse." Donny told me hugging me tightly. "fine. but just this once." I told him not arguing further like I wanted to. "master Splinter'll take good care of ya. we'll be back later!" Mikey said hugging me quickly then flipping out the door after the other boys. "see ya Dez!" I waved to them smiling lightly.

I was sitting on the couch upside down. "ugh. I'm so boorrrrreeddddd. when are they going to be back?" I said to myself. I flipped my legs over my head and landed on my feet. I decided to walk around the lair a bit. I was looking through the arcade games and found none that had captivated my attention. "I know! I'll train!" I whisper-yelled. "maybe master Splinter will help me out.." I tapped my chin with my finger for a moment, then ran off in the direction of Master splinters room. "sensei?" he opened his door and let me in. "the others aren't back yet.. and I was wondering if you could help me train?" "of course. when would you like to begin?" "um is now okay?" "sure." I turned and headed for the training room master splinter following me. I got two feet in the room and all of a sudden everything started spinning. I held my head and kneeled trying to figure out what was what. "Desire? are you alright?" I shook my head and fell on my side darkness wrapping around me in a warm cocoon.

splinters pov.

Desire fell unconscious. she was changing somehow.

Leos pov.

we returned home from our patrol and everything was eerily quiet. everyone searched the lair but no one found anything. we all ran into the training room to find master splinter kneeling by a girl. I moved around to see the girls face amd was shocked to see that she was desire. just with green skin, a shell and three fingers on both hands and feet like mine and my brothers only slimmer. "Desire?" mikey gaped at her kneeling next to master splinter. "what happened?" Donny asked the question that was in no doubt floating around in all of our minds. "we were going to train. she collapsed. then she started changing. it might have had to do with the so called rash she was experiencing earlier." Mikey picked her up. "we should put her in her room. we all followed him trying to figure out how this happened. "she touched mutagen.. then was bitten by- Spike!" Raph's eyes went wide in realization. "the mutagen works when combined with dna.. but it didnt completely combine with Dez's dna. it was half hers.. half spike.. so she became a mutant like us. only she looks more like a snapping turtle than a petshop turtle like us.. shell wise." Mikey put Dez in her bed and pulled the blanket over her. "so.. wait. Dez is now just like us?" mikey asked us all. "yes mikey." "how is she going to react? I mean.. she freaked out because of that rash.." he said looking at her with sad eyes and sitting at the foot of her bed. "who should be the one to tell her?" Raph asked me. "Mikey? she seems the most comfortable with you. maybe you should tell her. it would be best for her to wake up and you be in here." he nodded at my proposal. "why dies she feel so comfortable with you anyway?" he looked up at Raph. "I'm her younger brother. she just lost her younger sister.. put two and two together raph." he snapped. "sheesh mikey. you didnt have to be rude. he was only asking." donny told him. "she feels like she failed Kaylynn. wouldn't it be the only normal explanation? so she could start over?" at some point the argument between mikey and Raph had gotten so heated they were yelling at eachother. "youre such a hot head raph!" "and youre such a bonehead! you started this!!" "Boys! silence." sensei sternly yelled over them. "knock it off both of you. Mikelangelo. sit. everyone else, go train." he ordered the rest of us. "aye sensei." we all left.

mikeys pov.

everyone else left to train. sensei stayed back a moment. "you were correct my son." master splinter told me placing a hand on my shoulder. "she told me in secrecy that you reminded her much of her recently deseased sibling. she also told me that she would protect you with all her might against any threat. including your brothers. mikelangelo.. she will need you more than you realize." with that he turned and left. "thank you,father." I told him turning to Desire. now that I think back.. she told us she never cried in front of Kaylynn.. she refused to whenever I'm in the room.. even though I have caught her crying in her room before. I got up and moved over closer to her head by the wall. I kneeled next to her and grabbed her hand. "itll be alright Dez.." I squeezed it lightly. "I promise." I lay my head over my arm and rubbed her hand with my thumb. "m-mikey?" I looked up at Desires face to see her eyes looking curiously at me. "you collapsed.. everyone is really worried." she blinked at me a few times then reached up to her head. "my head feels like its going to explode.." she pulled her hand away and she took in a sharp intake of breath. "what the?!" she blinked again and looked at me with tears in her eyes. "when you collapsed, you changed. that rash was only the beginning.. spikes dna somehow combined with the mutagen and you became like us.. a mutant." she looked at me and then threw her blankets off of her getting up and looking in the mirror. she raised a hand to her cheek. "oh my gosh.. this can't be happening.." she started freaking out, she turned back to face me and a tear had escaped. "mikey.." "I know dez.." she shook her head and backed up into the wall sliding down. she brought her knees up to her chest and placed her head on her arms. I walked over to her and sat next to her. I placed my hand over hers and wrapped my arm around her shoulders. she looked up at me and threw her arms over my neck, her shoulders shook with every cry that escaped her lips. "itll be alright big sis." she clutched onto my shell tighter her cries becoming softer and softer until it became nothing but sniffles. she lifted her head from my chest and rubbed at her eyes lightly. getting rid of any signs of tears. "are you okay now?" I asked her. "yeah I'm okay. it was just a lot to take in.." "I know." I got up and held out my hand. she took it with a small smile, I pulled her to her feet. "where are the others?" "training with master splinter.." "and the pep squad isnt with them?" she asked me with a serious shocked face. she smirked quickly then punched my arm sprinting off. I held my arm lightly. "hey!! get back here!!!" I yelled running after her. I saw her shell and tackled her into the training room. she was underneath me for a minute, then she rolled over and pinned me. we continued rolling across the room. "dork!" she yelled out at me. "shell for brains!" "dome head!" "oh no you didnt!" "oh yes I did mister!" she and I both stopped rolling and we busted out laughing. we were both sitting up laughing our tail ends off. "high three!" I yelled to her. she smacked her hand against mine and we both got up. she looked at me then punched my arm again. I totally kicked your shell." "no. I totally kicked yours." I hip bumped her nearly knocking her over. she steadied herself and ran over to me grabbing my bandana and pulling it. "idiot." she told me. someone cleared their throat and we both straightened up. we both spun to our left to find the boys, and master splinter standing by the wall. "um... hey guys.." she said awkwardly. "training is over for the day. go relax." Leo Raph and Donny all crowded her. "hey Dez!" "how ya feelin?" "what up?" she blinked a bit before bumping shells with Raph. "a headache.. no big deal.." I pulled her by the arm out of the circle formed around her by my brothers. "she needs space for right now.. its still been a lot for her." she nodded lightly. "you know.. I have an old home movie Kaylynn and I made.. ive never watched it before.." "let's have movie night!" I let go of her arm. "I'll go get it." she said running out of the room. "so.. how'd she take it Mike?" "pretty roughly.. ive never seen anyone cry that much.. just don't bring up the whole mutation thing.. it still pretty fresh news to her." "hey guys you comin?!" she yelled down the hall. we all exchanged glances then ran into the livingroom.
