Chapter 5 - Stay Away

"You want me to go.... up there?"

"Of course! It'll be a wonderful experience, I promise." I look over at a beaming N, and back at the towering Ferris Wheel in front of me. Let's just say me and heights aren't the greatest combination.

Long story short, I couldn't say no to him. N begged me to stay with him, and it didn't exactly feel right turning down someone who was sweet from the start.

"I- I'm more comfortable on the floor."
Laughing nervously, I try backing out.

"I assure you miss, it will be a pleasurable experience. Come."

N grabs my hand and pulls me back into the front of the line, where I have no choice but get pulled into a wobbly cart. The door behind us closes and the cart begins its way upward. When I felt the pressure of being lifted, I immediately grabbed the rails beside me and shut my eyes tight.

I hear N laugh sweetly beside me and I feel a hand on my shoulder

"Miss, you should open your eyes. Please." He whispers

I shake my head, "Just tell me when we're back on the ground."

"But your missing out on a quite a wonderful view."

I take a deep breath,"This better be worth it.." I whisper to myself.

Still holding onto the rail, I open my eyes. At first there wasn't much to see, looking to the floor. I was still to petrified to look out. Then I felt the hand on my shoulder move to my chin.

"Look up." I heard N, his hand moving my head up to a sight that wasn't as scary as I thought it'd be.

It must've been the nights atmosphere, but the city looked so magical in the dark with all its glowing lights covering the city. I even caught a glimpse of Arcanine waiting down there for us to return.

I was so mesmerized by everything, I forgot about N, who was still holding onto me. Looking right next to me where he was, N's face was way too close to mine. He didn't have his usual sweet smile, he was just looked at me, his green eyes covered in an unknown thought. My eyes widened realizing how close I was to him, I back away from N's hold and laugh nervously trying to hide my uncomfortableness.

"P-Pretty sight." I stutter.

"Indeed it is." N's gentle expression soon returned as he looked at me again with a smile,"Your so different from the others. It only makes my curiosity about you grow even more."

"..Huh?" I was confused by his words again.

"The love your partner has for you, it's like nothing I've ever seen before." N begins walking closer to me. "What is it about you that makes you so hard to understand?"

Was he talking about Arcanine? My back hit the wall of my corner, I gasped surprising myself. N's figure towered over me as he closed the space between us. I looked back at his green eyes, glazed over again with that unknown though I couldn't figure out. I jumped at the feel of N's hand touch my cheek.

Usually if this were Nate or any other man, I would've beaten the shit out of them by now, but I didn't, or rather I couldn't, with N. He made me feel more confused than cautious about him.
