Marilyn's P.O.V.
We climbed in my car and I started it up; I jumped when my music started blaring. I had totally forgotten to turn it down this morning, I was in such a rush. Of course, though, it just had to be an Of Mice & Men song; Let Live started playing, and out of the corner of my eye I saw Shayley smirking. Jesus, he definitely thinks I'm a crazy, obsessed fan, now, I thought to myself. I quickly turned it down, as if it really made a difference at this point.
"Sorry..," I mumbled, face turning bright red.
"No, don't worry about it," he stated.
The rest of the car ride was kind of uneventful, it wasn't awkward, though, and I was thankful for that. We didn't talk, like, at all, though; it wasn't an awkward silence, we were just enjoying each others company, I guess. Once we pulled into the parking lot, we got out and headed inside, we stood in line for about five minutes; I contemplated on what I wanted and decided to just get a Very Berry Hibiscus Refresher; I had already had coffee once today. Once we got to the front of the line, I gave the lady our orders and found a table for us to sit and wait. I pulled out my iPhone and unlocked the screen, going strait to Twitter. I was taken aback to see that I had more that 100 new followers. Why would I have so many? I searched farther down in my notifications to see the reason; Alan had tweeted a picture of me talking with Austin and Shay and tagged me in it. I laughed a little when I saw the caption "New Band Bitchhhhh. Gonna be a fun couple of weeks with @Marbear_sings69". Of course he would do something like that.
"What's so funny," Shayley asked.
"Oh," I said, "Alan tweeted a picture of us," I laughed.
"Let me see," he smiled, and I handed him my phone. He looked at it for several seconds before handing it back to me and smirking at me.
"What," I laughed.
"Sixty-nine, huh," he asked, and my face turned bright red.
"I-I," I stumbled, which made him laugh. "I was, like, sixteen when I made that name," I tried to explain.
"No, no, I get it," he smiled, which made me blush even more, as if it were possible.
The man behind the counter called out our order and we got up to collect the coffee then leave. Once back in my car Shay spoke up again.
"You know," he started, "if you want to, you can come with us later. To the water park, I mean."
"Really," I asked, genuinely surprised.
"Yeah, totally," he said.
"Don't you guys wanna' hang out together," I asked.
"We're together, like, twenty-four, seven," he laughed.
"True," I laughed, lightly. It didn't take me long to make up my mind. "Yeah, I'd love to. But, I'd have to stop by my house and get my suit, before we go," I explained.
"Well, do you live around here," he asked.
"Yeah, actually. Like, ten minutes that way," I pointed in the direction of my house.
"Well," he began, "let's head there and get it, now. That way, we won't have to later," he suggested. It was a really good idea, I can't believe I didn't even think of getting it now.
"Okay," I said. "You sure you don't mind?"
"Not at all," he said. "Anyway, it'll be sweet having a chick as cool as you there with us."
His comment made my face turn bright red, and I looked away so he wouldn't see; but I'm pretty sure he did.
I started my car, and pulled out of the Starbucks parking lot, headed in the direction of my house. Once we got on the road, we chatted a little; nothing serious. He asked me a few things about myself, like what school I graduated from, if I planned on going to college, and if I had plans for any other tattoos or piercings. I answered him honestly; I told him my high school, explained how I was going to major in music, but I wanted to take online classes, and how I wanted a lot more tattoos but wasn't quite sure what to get; and I wasn't completely sure about the piercings, but I was thinking about a few, like my nose, medusa, and my belly button. I had asked him a few things, also. I asked him about life on the road, his craziest moment on tour, and his inspiration. He answered me in full, giving a million little details that helped me picture things so much better. His stories were hilarious, I found myself laughing really loudly at what he was saying. But the last answer he gave me made me remember why I loved him so much, why I idolized him. He said his biggest inspiration was music.
