I woke up at 2 in the morning and couldn't get Caleb off my mind. I looked out the window and saw the light in the loft was still on.
Caleb was staying there for the summer while Ty stayed in his trailer.
I slipped on my boots and headed out to the barn.
"Caleb?" I whispered and knocked lightly on the door.
He opened the door and let me in.
"Can we talk?" I asked.
"Actually thats exactly what i wanted to do" he smiled faintly.
"You kissed me" i stated.
"Yeah and you kissed back" he nodded.
"Well, what does that mean?" I asked confusingly.
"I don't know, maybe I don't wanna be just friends" he shrugged as he looked me right in the eye and played with his fingers.
"Maybe we shouldn't be just friends" I said as i took his hand.
It was silent for a moment and all that could be heard was the crickets and the owl.
"I think I'm in love with you" he stated.
I laughed with a smiled.
"What?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Prove it" i laughed.
He instantly smashed his lips to mine again. I was backed up against the wall with my arms around his neck. His hands tangled in my hair and our bodies closer together.
"Believe me now?" He smirked.
I nodded with a smile.
"Be my girlfriend?" He asked.
I nodded and he hugged me.
"Go back to bed now" he smiled.
"Goodnight" I whispered as i kissed his cheek and left.
Morning
I woke up to the smell of pancakes and walked into the kitchen. I was dressed and ready for the day.
"Morning grandpa, morning Lou, morning dad" I chirped as I grabbed a plate of breakfast.
"Morning" they said.
"Is Caleb up yet?" I asked.
Grandpa laughed. "I highly doubt it"
I nodded and shovelled the rest of my pancake into my mouth before heading out to the barn.
I knocked on the door and there was no answer so i finally just walked in and jumped on the bed.
"Wake up" i smiled as I butted his nose with mine.
"Noooo" he groaned sleepily and rolled over.
"Caleb get up" i sighed as i pulled the covers off of him.
"Its cold" he whined.
"You suck" I laughed as he rolled over to face me.
"I didn't even get a good morning" he raised and eyebrow.
"Early risers get good mornings, but your lucky" I smiled as i kissed him. "Good morning Caleb now get the hell up"
"Alright I'm going" he sighed and rolled out of bed.
I left the loft and meet Amy downstairs.
"Hey" I smiled.
"Morning" she said as I fed Spirit and Daisy.
Caleb was down within two minutes, and I didn't realize it until his arms were wrapped around my waist as I cleaned my old saddle up a bit.
Amy saw him and looked a little confused.
"Um, you two are..." She looked for the words to say.
"A couple, yes" Caleb smiled proudly.
She nodded and carried on with tacking up spartan.
"You wanna head down to Maggie's with me, I need to grab a few things?" Caleb asked.
"Sure, i need to get Daisy a new halter anyways" I shrugged.
He took my hand and led me to his truck. We headed down to Maggie's.
"Hey Soraya" I smiled.
"Hey Alexis, Hey Caleb" she waved.
He tipped his hat and smiled.
"Be right back" he kissed my cheek and headed to the bathroom.
"Are you and caleb a thing?" Soraya raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah" I smiled.
"I saw it coming, Amy owes me ten" she laughed.
I rolled my eyes with a smile.
"Im going to go check out a few things, see ya later though" i smiled and headed toward the feed section.
I found a nice halter for Daisy and finally found Caleb by the lassos.
"Find it?" He asked.
I nodded and raised the bag up.
"What are you looking for?" I asked as his arm wrapped around my waist.
"A new lasso" he stated.
"Whats wrong with your old one?" I asked.
His old one is a really nice blue and i liked it.
"Its old" he shrugged.
"But its nice" i smiled.
"I know" he kissed my cheek with a smile and picked out a red one.
"This one is for practicing" he stated as we walked out of Maggie's.
I nodded.
"Im going to go ride some bulls and it would be nice if you would come watch" he smiled as he started the truck.
"Sure" I chirped.
We pulled into an arena where Chase Powers was watching some other people team rope, barrel race, and ride some bulls.
"Hey look, there are some barrel racers over there" Caleb pointed to two brunettes.
"Seriously, Kit and Jo" I raised an eyebrow. "I don't like them, plus they aren't any real competition, and you wanted me to watch" I listed.
He nodded with a smiled and took my hand as he led me over to where the bulls were.
"Who's this lady?" One of the guys said.
"Im Alexis, I'm Tim Fleming's daughter" I smiled at all three guys.
"Another Fleming aye?"
I nodded.
"Wait a second Alexis Fleming, like the best barrel racer currently on the circuit?"
"That would be me" I laughed.
They looked at caleb then back at me. They looked at his arm, around my waist and could tell that i was his girlfriend.
"Damn Caleb, You got lucky" Chase finally stepped in.
"I did, but enough talking, lets get some riding done" he smiled.
They nodded and got into position, just waiting on Caleb.
"Careful" I reminded him.
"I know" he smiled and pecked my lips before getting on the bull.
I watched for hours as he rode bull after bull. Being bucked off after six seconds for hours. He was finally done.
"What'd you think?"he asked.
"I think your crazy but a cowboy's gotta do what a cowboy's gotta do" I smiled.
"I did get lucky" he laughed.
"Damn right you did" one of the guys said.
Just then Kit and Jo were coming over.
"Hey Caleb" Kit greeted.
"Hey" he waved.
"Wait, aren't you Alexis Fleming, like, the barrel racer?" Kit asked.
"Yup" I nodded.
"What are you doing here, you live in Calgary"
"Here visiting my dad for the summer" i shrugged.
"Tim Fleming right?" Jo asked.
I nodded.
"What are you doing here with Caleb?" Kit asked curiously.
"Watching him ride, or should i say, watching him get bucked off because technically its not riding" I smirked.
"And you could do better?" He asked.
"Cowboy you better remember who my daddy is" I smirked.
"I wanna see you ride that bull" Kit laughed.
"Alright, whatever floats your goat" I shrugged.
"Be careful, okay?" Caleb reminded me.
"Alright, I know, but there isn't anything careful about what I'm about to do" I laughed.
He sighed and let me go.
The boys got me set up and we were off.
7 seconds passed and then we were at 10 seconds.
I finally was bucked off at 10.1 seconds.
"She can barrel race, ride, rope, and ride bulls, Caleb she's a keeper man, better put a ring on it before she gets away" One of the guys joked.
"I ain't goin' no where, nothin' to worry about" I laughed.
"I just have to look out for other guys trynna take you out" Caleb smirked "a pretty girl like you is pretty hard to resist" he smirked.
"Yeah you've proved that already" I laughed.
"You know I love you" he smiled as he leaned against the fence and brought me close to him.
"Oh i know" I laughed.
