When my eyes opened I was once again in a dark room, but there were red drapes around the walls. And instead of a cage I was chained to a chair. I tried to escaped the metal links, but the moment I moved my skin began to scream.
Silver.
Lights flooded the room and my eyes quickly adjusted and darted from left to right waiting for something to happen. I've only heard about this supernatural black market. Whatever or whoever was on display was sure to become the highest bidder's slave.
The curtains moved to the side and allowed me to see the people who wanted to purchase me. Five windows, five creeps, and I almost pissed my self when I looked into the eyes of the person directly on front of me.
Thomas.
A woman's voice came over the intercom. "Today ladies and gentlemen we have a magnificent find. This lovely little flower is delicate with a spicy flare. Her genetic composition is an archaic and allusive being. She's a child of the moon, a werewolf."
My wolf was suppressed but I felt her trying to make her way to the surface, "I'll show you delicate." The woman's voice came back on, "Didn't I say she was spicy?" The men and women behind the windows laughed. Well except for Thomas.
"The bidding will start at one hundred thousand American dollars." Holy shit. These people are crazy. Buzzers start going off left and right and the voice came on, "Two hundred thousand." It kept going and the number kept rising and Thomas kept pressing his buzzer. As the number reached 1.2 million the buzzing slowed.
Thomas's eyes gleamed and my heart stuttered in fear that he was going to win. The bidding stopped at 1.5 million and Thomas was the last to press his buzzer. "Well ladies and gentlemen we have a winner of this lovely wolfsbane treasure. The King may take what is rightfully his."
My mind was racing and it kept coming back to where in the hell did Thomas get this kind of money? A door behind me opened and Thomas banged on the window, "Don't inject her!" The person behind me sighed, but I felt him unlock the silver chains and grab me by my neck and yank me up. Before I had time to fight, a pair of cuffs were secured around my wrists.
I felt hopeless for the first time in a long time.
The large man pulled me down a long hallway that led to a big red door. When he opened it there was a black suburban waiting outside with Thomas holding open the door for me. A migraine started to form in the back of my head and my body felt weak. The man shoved me in the back of the van shutting the door behind me. I situated myself upright and waited to hear what was going to happen next.
A grey haired old man sat in the driver's seat with a pair of shades with both hand on the wheel. Thomas opened the door across form me and jumped in. The driver started the car and we were off. "What do you want Thomas?" He scoffed, "Isn't it obvious? Every king needs his queen by his side. That little Moon Valley Pack you were hiding in won't even see it coming." I quirked my eyebrow, "Won't see what coming?"
He eyed me warily, "You still don't know what you are?"
What the hell is he talking about? He scooted closer and pushed my hair behind my shoulder, "You're mine to do with whatever I want. You're a powerful weapon and I plan to wield you and destroy Moon Valley." Before I could move away he sunk his teeth into my neck.
No.
I screamed and tried to push him away. My entire body began to convulse as I tried to fight the "pleasure" associated with being marked. My body went still and Thomas pulled away licking my wound, "Now your my mate."
I slumped in my seat as my heart broke due to the forced marking. "I'll finish the job once we get to the compound." His words sounded like a foreign language. "Sit up and act like you're happy." I obeyed within an instant. What the hell? I slowly looked at him with a small smile, "What's happening?"
He grinned, "Well my dear Maxine, you're a special being and now that I've marked you, you have to do everything I say. You see... You're a silver werewolf. There hasn't been one of those in a thousand years. You're stronger, faster, and posses more power than any alpha that has ever existed and I plan to use you to destroy anyone who stands in my way."
I let it sink in. It made sense now. Somehow Alpha Terrance must have known and that's why he wanted me to join his pack so quickly, and that's the real reason Thomas wanted me. "Scoot closer my love. We have to look like we're a couple for my pack." I moved closer, "Now I'm going to take these cuffs off, but you won't do anything to hurt me."
He took the cuffs off and I made no move to jump out of the moving car because he was too close and I didn't want him to tell me to come back. I didn't need him telling me not to leave him.
But I guess this means what he's saying is true because I have no desire to be his little pet, but my body is compelled to obey his commands. He wrapped his arm around me and kissed my temple.
My mind was silent. I didn't want to think about what Thomas had told me, but I needed to find a way to get away from him. If I could keep him from completing the mating process I could leave him and make my way back to Moon Valley.
I can't hurt him, not now that he's commanded me not to. However I could leave if I timed it right. As the wheels in my brain started turning we turned down a road that led to what I assumed to be the compound. If I was right we weren't too far from the Moon Valley Pack. The vehicle stopped and Thomas and the driver got out.
Thomas gave me his hand to take to help me out of the van. I took it gently and once my feet touched the ground I swayed and fell into Thomas's arms. My breathing was heavy, "Are you okay Maxine?" I squeezed my eyes shut, "I think I'm going to be sick."
He honestly looked concerned, "Paris will take you to the house. I have some things to take care of." The older man took my hand and led me down a paved driveway to a large house that was made of a plain red brick.
We entered the house, "Can you please tell me where the bathroom is?" He pointed me in the direction and I ran to it covering my mouth. Once the door was shut and locked I straightened up and looked at myself in the mirror.
My eyes had turned an amber color from their normal steely grey blue. I gasped, this can't be happening. What the hell is this? I shook my head and decided to ask Terrance once I found my way back there. I quickly looked around the small bathroom and began thanking the Moon Goddess when I noticed the small window.
I could squeeze myself through it and shift into my wolf. I quickly shoved it open and stuck my head out to see if the coast was clear. I smiled to myself and I pushed my small frame through the window and landed quietly on the ground outside.
I probably only had a couple of minutes before they realized I was gone. I wasted no time to shift into my wolf and started running in the direction of Moon Valley.
