"Damon, where is your father? I have to leave for a meeting soon. Is he even coming?" Mr Leaon had said to me, angrily. I smile and said yes; but it didn't seem like he believed me. Suddenly, footsteps are heard coming down the hall, into the cafeteria. It's my dad, but there's someone with him, some girl. "Hey dad! Long time no see!" I said to him. He frowns at me and continues on with the principal. As he does so, the girl that had walked in with my dad had sat in a table across from me. She's pretty cute for a girl to be going here. Have I seen her before? No, probably not. She has long brown hair, tan skin, and she looked kinda hipster. She had on a black tank top, a red flannel left unbuttoned, and some black leggings. She had green eyes that seemed to pull me in. I just HAD to say something. She was gorgeous. I straighten up and lean over the table a little. "Psst, hey girl," I whisper to her. The girl turned around with her phone in her hand. She looks at me and gives a faint smile while saying "Hi there." And turns back around. Had she been crying? Her face was a little red.
I decide to go and sit across from her to at least become her friend. I get up and take a seat in front of her and pull my phone out as well, pretending to text someone. The girl glances up from her phone and looked me in the eye. "May I help you?"
Did she really just give me that tone?
"Umm, I was just seeing if I can get to know you. My names Damon," I hold out my hand for a shake.
She accepts the hand shake offer and smiles. "Nice to meet you. I'm Brooke. Brooke Poole."
Alright, alright. Maybe she's not that bad after all. She tucked the left side of her hair behind her ear and puts in an earbud. I'm curious to know what music she's listening to, so I ask her. "I'm listening to P!ATD right now. Emperors new clothes. Have you heard of the band?" Once she said P!ATD, my heart melted. "Seriously?! P!ATD is one of my favorite bands!"
She giggles at me and responds "yeah it's mine to. I've been to one of their concerts before. It was really fun. I had um, went with my brother."
Brooke's smile faded once she had mentioned her brother. I wonder if there's something up with him.
"Yeah, your lucky! I've always wanted to meet them in person. I've never been to any of their concerts." I said to her. She looked at me dead in the eye, as if I had just said the world was ending. "Seriously?! Dude, like, you and I need to go to one of their concerts sometime!" She said to me.
Was this a date? It couldn't be. She's to cute for some potato face like me.
I was about to say that we should, but my father walked up to me, his face all red. "Your mother is going to have a fit when she finds out you got expelled! I can't believe this happened! You are SO done! From this point on, we're gonna make your life a living HELL!" I stare at him in disbelief. My dad almost never curses. "Say goodbye to your little friend, and get your ass up and get moving." He says to me.
I look at the girl, wondering if I'm ever going to see her again. I quickly write my number on the lunch table with 'MY #' written under it.
I get up and my dad grabs me by the arm leading me to the van.
