*a/n: so this chapter will be a flash back on how Derek figured out that Maelie is a were-cheetah. enjoy!*

•Derek Hale•

I was running. From hunters. It all started when they started shooting vigorously at my house. I managed to crawl out a window and I ran. I don't think they saw me though. I pressed my back up against a tree and breathed heavily. Who the hell were they and where the hell did they come from?

I decided to go back to my house... I mean what as left of my house... and I saw that they were gone. I saw the multiple bullet holes in the walls and windows and I slowly went inside. There were bullet shells everywhere. I bent down and picked one of them up. There was a symbol on it. A skull to be exact. Mexico. The Calaveras. They have been after my family for years. I took a few more steps and something caught my eye. A sheet of paper. I picked it up... It was written in Spanish but I translated it to English and read it out loud.

"We know a girl just got bit. A were-cheetah. She's a different kind. A dangerous and fierce kind. We're coming after her. And if you don't know who we're talking about; her family used to be hunters... well at least her father. The Rogers. This were-cheetah goes by the name of Maelie Rogers. Don't protect her Derek. There is nothing you can do to save her. NOTHING. So I suggest you tell us where she is and where she is hiding. And if you don't agree, you're going down with her."

I started to breathe heavily. What do I do? I walked around. There is no way in hell I'm helping them kill my girlfriend. She's the love of my life. Why would I? I have to tell her though. I have to. But when is the real question. I didn't have to think for a long time because that is when Mae called me.

Trying to comprehend what's going on is insane. My girlfriend is a were-cheetah. Okay, that can be really cool but the Calaveras say she's dangerous... There's no way in hell I'm helping them. But I am for sure going to save her, and I'll destroy anything that gets in the way.

ik. awful chapter. im about to end this story i HATE IT SO MUCH HOW DO YOU GUYS READ THIS TRASH LIKE FR. I have to quit slacking. i really do. im gonna try and turn this story around and FIX IT!!!
