I looked into his swampy brown orbs that I have grown to love, as my blue ones started to tear up.

"Don't leave me Shrek. Please, I need you. I love  you."

Shrek sighed and turned away.

"I know Kylie, but I love Fiona, she's my princess."

I turn around, not wanting him to see the tears falling from my face, onto the floor of his swamp house.

"What about me?" I ask, taking him by surprise. "I thought I  was your princess."

"You were." He says sadly. "But things change."

I get up to leave, but stop and say: "You've changed too, Shrek. And not  for the better."

He looks angry, so I leave before he can yell at me.

I don't look back at the swamp I used to call home.

I don't look back at the ogre I used to call my boyfriend, and my best friend.

And I definitely don't look back as I hear his ogre roar.

He doesn't love me, it wasn't meant to be.

But it's not ogre yet.
