After a cold meeting, the countries and I split up from the room and went back to our rooms. It was late at night at the crack of 8. Normally Romano would attend these meeting since he was a country, but he called in sick today for some reason, so I came to fill in for him. Sometimes my head hurt trying to memorize all the 2-hour junk Germany talk, but I did it all for that tomato-loving boyfriend. I rubbed my head. It felt like a million-mile train riding around in circles around my head, I couldn't shake the feeling, but I did hear someone coming behind me.
I stopped in my tracks, "Why are you following me?" You demanded to a heavy-set country behind you.
"I'm not going to do you any harm," Germany replied behind me in a gruff voice, "here." I spun around and caught an incoming shining red object in my hands. Curious, I glanced up at Germany, "A peace offering from me, if you would like to call it that."
"Why? I thought you and Romano had that huge fight two days ago?" I was suddenly suspicious of Germany's random act of forgiveness. Where is all this coming from? I took the "gift" of course, but I'll dispose of it later in the garbage.
"Just give that to that tomato bast***, maybe he will cool down. I can't have another enemy like him on my list anyway..."
I looked at the object in my hand. It looked like a juicy ripe tomato freshly picked from a garden, but for some reason it felt way too heavy in my hands. I took a sniff just to be sure: it smelled just fine, "_______? What are you doing?"
"Oh nothing," I remarked sarcastically, "just making sure nothing rigged or anything."
"It's a tomato, what can go wrong?" he said with annoyance.
"Alright, alright, I'll take this to Romano and see what he says." I gave him a look that told him I was still cautious about him, and I turned away in a huff and walked away.

When I arrived at our room, I called for Romano, "Hey Romano! You doing okay?"
A cough was heard and a very loud sniffle. I think I need to steal more Kleenexes from America. There's no other country who has better stuff than him, "______, I'm still here," I entered the living room, "I went to the kitchen and tried to make soup."
"What?! I told you to stay away from the stove!" You scolded him.
"Sorry, I didn't want you to go through the trouble of cooking for me."
"Well, that's nice of you... oh, Germany sent a present to you." I threw him the tomato and he caught it. He had the same reaction as I had in the beginning: a wary glance at the bright bed bloody fruit, twisting it around in his hands as he inspected it. If anyone knew more about tomatoes, it was Romano.
"Hmph, it smells fine. Just do whatever you like with it," he replied gruffly through his stuffy nose. He gave it to me, and I left the room, but I heard him mumbling to himself, though I couldn't quite hear. I arrived in the kitchen and grabbed the biggest knife there was. I guess I was going to make him a salad or something. Did I look like I was a professional doctor? Oh well, since he likes tomatoes... a giant sweat drop plummeted beside my forehead. Oh good lord, I didn't know anything when it came to taking care of a sick person. It reminded me of a time when I gave burnt pasta to his other brother, Italy. I ran away before a knife flew right at me.
I only sighed and shook that awkward memory from my mind. Just before the knife touched the flesh of the fruit, I thought I had caught a shadow zipping past the kitchen window. I set the utensil down and peeked through the glass. There was a giant full moon illuminating miles of grass, trees, other countries' houses, and runaway wild bunnies, but no mysterious figure, "That's weird, it must've been my imagination." I murmured, and I resumed.
