I paced about the Harry's hotel room, rubbing my hands together. I couldn't believe how nervous I was over a stupid date. But I was having trouble thinking of where I could take Jennifer. When it came down to it, I didn't know that much about her at all. I didn't even know her last name! But to be fair, we had only known each other for three days...
"Niall, stop stressing. Why are you stressing about this stupid girl, anyway." Harry growled. He was becoming extremely annoyed with my nervous pacing because he absolutely hated Jennifer. He didn't even understand that it was Jennifer's mother's fault that we were in this situation in the first place.
"I can't stop stressing. I don't know where I'm supposed to take Jennifer for our date!" I sat down on the bed next to Harry with a heavy thud.
"Can't you ask someone who knows Jennifer what you should do? Seriously. Stop bugging me with your stupid Jennifer problem." Harry glared at me. I was about to reply when the best idea popped into my head. Jennifer seemed to be good friends with the waiter at the restaurant where we first met. I could ask him what to do! I jumped up abruptly.
"Thanks, Haz. You're a genius!" I said and finally left him by himself. I heard his sigh of relief as I left the room.
As I caught the lift down to my car, I tried to remember the waiter's name. It started with T, I knew that much. Ted? No, he wasn't a Ted. I knew his name wasn't Timmy either. I walked along the plush red carpet to the automatic doors. As I walked out to my car, the name finally came to me. It was Tom.
I hopped in my car and drove to the restaurant. My excitement was increasing. Tom would definitely know where I could take Jennifer. As long as he gave me that, I could create the perfect date! I couldn't help but want to impress Jennifer. She seems so nice, and had such an adorable little happy face...
I thought about what Jennifer would like. Maybe a fancy dinner, she seemed like that type of girl, but at the same time she seemed comfortable in just about any situation. I parked the car outside the sleek black building. I jumped out and practically ran inside. A familiar looking girl with blond hair and a white-toothed smile greeted me.
"Hello, my name is Elsa. What can I do for you? Do you have a reservation?" She asked me cheerfully. Oh, it was Elsa. The girl who greeted me last time.
"Hasn't this already happened?" I winked. She looked at me in confusion.
"I'm Niall, remember?" I told her. Her face lit up with recognition.
"Oh! Niall. Sorry I didn't recognise you, it's been a long day. What's up?" She couldn't wipe the smile off her face now that she knew who she was speaking to.
"I was looking for a staff member named Tom. Is he around today?" I asked, scanning the room briefly to see if I could find him. Elsa pulled a face.
"Hmm... That's a good question. I know he doesn't usually do day shift, he's generally requested at night. But I know we're short staffed today so he may be in. Let me check." She rushed off somewhere and left me to my own thoughts. I jiggled my leg to pass the time.
It didn't take her long to come back, dragging a waiter behind her. The waiter was carrying a tea towel on his arm. As soon as he came closer I recognised him as Tom.
"Hey, Irish Dude, what's the problemo?" He asked me as he casually leaned on the front desk.
"Well, I'm taking Jennifer on a second date and I need to know where she likes to go." I answered.
"Irish Dude, anywhere you go, Jenny will follow. It's basic logic. She is obsessed with you. Just take her wherever." He got up off the desk, ready to go.
"Wait... Don't go. I really need a place. I'm struggling here. Haven't you ever been in the same boat?" I was practically on my knees begging him.
"No, I have not." He pushed himself off the desk and began to turn away. I grabbed his arm across the desk.
"Please, have some mercy." I pleaded. He must have seen the desperation in my eyes, because he finally gave me a reply I could use.
"Bring her back here. If you bring her at 10, the restaurant will be empty and the manager will be gone. I'll make sure everything is perfect. She loves this restaurant, so it's the only place you could bring her where she can truly be herself. Trust me, I know." He pried my hand from his arm and turned to leave.
"Tom?" He turned around. "Thanks for the help, you've really saved me here." His reply was a quick nod, before he rushed back to do his job.
Well, that's the date sorted then.
