Merlin’s POV

“I never saw you having a child,” said Arthur as we both sat down in his chambers, with the memories flooding back to me.

“I never planned on having a child at first but I met someone and it seemed right. What did you think I would do?” I asked him.

“I don’t know to be honest. I always saw you as my idiot servant and my best friend and I never considered that when you left I wouldn’t see you for years and to find out you actually got a son. I didn’t know whether to believe the rumours about you Merlin, there are so many,” said Arthur.

“I know there is and some of them are not true but as you can see others are. As I said Arthur I didn’t come for a friendship gathering, I came because your life is in danger and I need to protect you because it’s something which you will not be able to stop,” I said to him.

“How do you know Merlin?” he asked.

“I know Arthur because I saw a vision into the future and I am here to stop it coming true. It is not your time to die yet Arthur. You need to protect this kingdom, your two sons and Gwen for a lot longer,” I said.

“I never thought I find you sitting opposite me and being so wise,” he smiled.

“A lot has changed with both you and I. It was bound to happen but I have missed you prat,” I laughed.

“I have missed you too idiot, I just wished you came and visited at least once,” said Arthur.

“I am sorry Arthur but you became king and I knew I had to leave because it was time I found my place as who I am.”

“Did you find it?” he asked.

“I went to Eldor first to see my mother before I set of on my journey. She said she was proud of what I had done but she also didn’t understand why I left you. No one seemed too but I did and so did the great dragon. My destiny was to make sure you became king and I did that. I left to develop my skills, to find the other dragons and build a home for them. I love my home now, it’s beautiful there,” I said to Arthur who was looking at me weirdly.

“So you found your place?”

“I did, I live within a wonderful village with many talented warlocks and I help them with their magic and make sure they are put on the right path because some are not. I had the vision of you a little while ago and I knew I had to return to Camelot.  I brought Adair as I was about to start something with him.”

“What do you mean?” he asked.

“Adair is my apprentice and while I am here protecting you, I am also going to be training him,” I said.

“He used his magic to slam that door in my face,” said Arthur.

“He can use some spells but he doesn’t know much yet but I am hoping with my help he will. I had to learn most of my spells on my own through books and a little help from Gaius but I want Adair to have his father there to teach him and guide him. I always wanted that ever since I considered having children as I never got that,” I said to him.

“Is Adair your only child?” asked Arthur.

“Oh he is my oldest but not my only child. I have three and one on the way. Adair is the oldest at eight. Then there is Percy who is six and Anya who is five,” I smiled at him.

Arthur looked at me in shock before he spoke. “You have three and one on the way, god Merlin you work fast,” laughed Arthur.

I levitated a cup from the table and it landed on his hand. “That is not funny,” I smiled.
