Merlin’s POV

I brought Adair into a hug but as I did the door to my chamber bashed open and I looked up just in time to find someone I thought I would never ever see again, it is Gaius. He pulled Adair away from me and chucked him aside like a rag doll and grabbed onto my top roughly and chucked me out the door and I fell on the ground quite far down the corridor and nearly fell down the stairs.

As I tried to get to my feet Gaius was already on me and kicked me in the side before picking me up and throwing me down the stairs. Ever step I fell down hurt my whole body and when I reached the bottom it felt like I had broken my whole body in the amount of pain I found myself in.

As I tried to move Gaius grabbed me again and looked into my eyes and for a second I saw the old Gaius within him before the evil returned and started to drag me down the corridor towards Arthur’s chamber. “What do you want?” I managed to ask.

He didn’t answer me but instead rammed his fist into my stomach and I screamed out in pain. Gaius rammed open the door to Arthur’s chamber and he chucked me on the ground right in front of Arthur’s feet.

Everyone looked shocked in the room including Arthur and he looked at me like he was asking me what the heck was going on. I had no idea either and all I was worried about right now was Adair who could be hurt as well as what was about to happen next because Arthur and everyone else in the room were in danger now too.

“Gaius?” Arthur asked. I looked at Arthur wondering what he was thinking.

Gaius gripped on to my top and looked at Arthur. “Do you think I am Gaius, Gaius is gone you fool,” he sneered before he kicked me in the stomach. It hurt so much and I spat blood out onto the floor as he dropped me back to the ground.

“What have you done to Gaius?” asked Arthur.

“I worry more about your stupid little friend here and yourself because you two are not going to be leaving this chamber alive.”

I managed to get to my knees and it took all my will power to chuck a spell at Gaius who flew backwards and hit into the wall knocked out. I hated doing it but it was clear that was not Gaius.

“Merlin are you alright?” asked Arthur kneeling down beside me.

“No, not really,” I laughed.

“How can that person look like Gaius?” asked Arthur.

“It’s complicated but if I am right someone brought him back from the dead but his mind has been taken over. There is only certain people who can do such a thing that is Gaius I am sure of that and he must have been brought back by sacrificing someone else’s life but other than myself the only person who could do that is Morgana as I know she has been learning to do such a thing,” I said as Arthur helped me to his bed.

“Lay here, Gwaine go and fetch Jim at once,” said Arthur.

“Gwaine, you need to go to my chamber and make sure Adair is alright first,” I begged him.

Arthur nodded at Gwaine to agree with this before he left the chamber. “What are we to do with Gaius?” asked Arthur.

“I will be able to break the enchantment but once I am feeling a bit better,” I said to him.

Morgana’s POV

“Why did you do such a thing?” asked Mordred.

“It’s a decor as I know Merlin will know it was me. They will think that is the attack but in actual fact it isn’t. We will strike when they least expect and since you messed up and told that stupid friend of yours the plan I had to think of something,” I said to him.
